I'm trying to find cometic head gaskets big block 4.560 bore .040 thickness. Cometic is like 8 weeks out. Whats the deal with that?
Any other alternative quality head gaskets? Or, does anyone have any of these laying around that you would sell? I have some .050, but to thick.

I don't know if they had to shutdown due to Covid or not, but seems most of their gaskets aren't in stock. My dad needed a gasket for his 360, I ordered in right before Christmas and he got it the 1st week of Feb. I even contacted Cometic about it figured maybe it would be quicker to go thru them, but they told me to going thru a vendor would be the same amount of time, plus the vendor would prob have a better price than dealing directly with them, so I ordered it thru Summit.

Mancini is lists a 4.60" .040 Cometic, #cagc5799-040, if that helps.
Amazon also claims to have 3 at this same bore in stock. Bill

Ordered a set from Summit on 1-29-2021 and they show "Expected Arrival on 3/16/2021"

A word to the wise, Don may have been good at one time, not anymore on engine building or supplying you good engine parts.

I was just looking on summit's site for some MLS gaskets for a sb chevy I'm building...they only had like 3 types in stock. I couldn't believe that.

Put the ones you have on and don't look back. That tiny bit of compression is not going to make that much diff. Just a thought/

Not to change the subject but is everybody as tired as I am at the lack of service that all of these MFG and a lot of dealers have now ? I mean come on ?? Covid is real but to blame your short comings on a Virus is too much. It seems to be an excuse for poor work ethic to me in a lot of cases. Ok sorry for the rant , Continue on with your post.

I don’t know why you guys are having issues with so many vendors. Don at 4secondsflat treated me great, cosmetic gaskets guys were great, Harlan Sharp made a set of custom offset rockers and shipped with them three days of their projected times, summit is maybe taking one day longer than usual, UPS has been terrific, UPS was even better than expected throughout the election and holidays. Maybe I’m just lucky.

Some companies are still doing like they are supposed to but way to many times have I heard due to "Covid 19" My butt , Its due to not doing your darn job and using that as an excuse.
