I've read a bunch of articles saying its been disbanded, but the official word from Stellantis sounds like it just merged with PSA's performance segment.

"In February 2021, all of the core elements of the SRT performance engineering team were integrated into Stellantis’ global engineering organization.

This action will have the two-way benefit of ensuring that our brands’ SRT and performance-focused product offerings continue to meet the highest quality standards and expectations, while delivering key learnings from motorsports and other high-performance-technology applications across a wider mix of our company’s product lines.

These products have delighted enthusiasts for nearly two decades, and Stellantis will continue to sell and develop the next generation of Dodge//SRT-branded vehicles, as well as Jeep and Ram vehicles that utilize high-performance SRT technology.”

There's only so long a brand can go against "the norm" by just cranking out high horsepower coupes, sedans and SUVs. I've certainly enjoyed the stuff they have put out, but on the flip-side you have OEMs like GM saying "no more IC cars in 2035".

The clock is ticking for the Dodge brand to either keep running at 100mph down the path of burning gasoline, or pivot toward EV/fuel cell and try to make the name make it through the next two decades. They'll be left holding the bag if they wait too long, but that very well be the corporate strategy. Run Dodge with the high margin gas cars until they can't be sold anymore, then pull the plug.

I have seen some stuff indicating Dodge ending Hellcat stuff and replacing it with other "technology" creating the same power levels.

Can't believe it's gone on this long without outside interference. In a couple months it'll be 7 years since the Hellcat announcement. Heck, when I bought my 1st Challenger back in '11 I thought it was the end of that 2 door platform. Who knows. shruggy

GM has a great track record, of being arrogantly wrong.

The all electric vehicles are really being hyped currently. They're being hyped by the politicians, car makers, the dealership owners and the local and national media- radio TV and online media. You know who is NOT hyping all electrics? The buying public. They're is virtually no one in the looking for a new car public chomping at he bit for that Mach E Ford or electric Hummer. Just because Tesla is getting some competition doesn't mean electrics are taking over unless -they're forced on everyone. What has changed? Why is the EV revolution happening now when it wasnt 3 years ago? All electric cars have been available to buy for what 20-30 plus years in one form or another? Telas have been available since 2010 and in the past 11 years Teslas have been the choice of an infinitesimal amount of buyers. Most buyers choosing internal combustion when they could have bought a Volt or Tesla or Leaf.

I thought everyone forgot that, thank you for reminding! Remember when the Hellcat was a rumor, supposed to be a "Cuda"? And there was talk of a forced induction engine that threatened GM's ZL1, but for street duty? I recall the head of gm's performance brand laughing about it and his reply was " we have nothing to worry about. Let Chrysler put a supercharger on their engines, we'll just put our 650 hp supercharger engine in our other cars!".......and then the 707 hellcat engine dropped, and then the Demon dropped, and then the redeye dropped.

Pulling the plug would be stupid, they have heritage names and design to pull from that the EV start-ups don't have. What they should do is keep the gassers in production while making new EV versions of them. They could do a ton of cool things with an electric CHARGER and have all kinds of fun with its name and modern 68-70 design on a full EV chassis. You have two EV cars that run bottom 9's, prime time for a new charger to show up and lay the smack down on them.

Yep, GM is notoriously bad at decision making. Why would anyone care what they said? How is that full size 4 cylinder turbo pickup selling?

I was listening to a local radio station with a guest on that said Fiat Chrysler or now Starship Stellantis is going to have to move hard to EV or some kind of green program to get away from spending billions buying emissions credits from Tesla. And when this happens it will of course bring Tesla down to earth in terms of value, but its really about
the enviro movement twisting the arms of the auto manufacturers to get on board with their program. WIth the crew that is running the US now, there isn't any kind of escape from this .

I'm sure lots of people will be standing in line, hoping to get enough electric to plug in a charger for their dead EV. The current electrical grid can't even supply enough electric for housing and business in a lot of places, how will they ever be able to supply enough electric if every vehicle required it as well?

EV may work out well in big cities, but there is a lot of the USA the current battery charge ranges will work, once you get out of the cities. EV is not yet practical in much of the US, regardless of the price range of the EVs. Gene

We are currently in a way out the ordinary ice storm in the Houston area. It has crippled the electric grid here and we and millions of others are without power currently. But the powers that be want to add 100 of thousands of electric cars to the grid 🤪. I’m sure that will go over great.

Had to laugh at GM's statement about 2035. Uh, what electric vehicle has GM successfully made and marketed? Nothing and yet they say they are going all in and only EV? One bad decision after another. They also pointed out that only 1% of the buying public is interested in EV right now and they need to figure out how to change that opinion. Hmmm, last time I checked, you make vehicles the public wants or you go out of business. Capitalism 101.

No fear of going out of business, remember the bail outs several years ago?

Sky is falling on Moparts again.

Just exactly what part of this statement says SRT is done?
