We have a Valiant that runs out of our shop called "Tremor" of Darryal Franks,540" wedge, big wheelstands and runs low 9.0s and high 8s.It also look unique and draws a lot of attention.

I prefer the slotted wheels too, But it looks great either way. Sure beats the heck out of racing a red Camaro.

It looks great and very unique. That combo should net your goal if the converter and suspension are right.

Honestly I liked the "before" picture better.

It has that It's-so-ugly-it-can't-possibly-be-fast look to it!

The mags make it even better!

I am building a 65 myself, you do not see them often at shows or the track.

Very interested in what it runs

What headers did you use

Thanks for all the kind words guys! The only problem is, I wish I owned it! I built a car for someone else that I wanted for myself! My checkbook isn't quite that thick. I'll keep plugging away at the Dart and I'll get it there.
The car has a ton of local history. The late Doug Toelle used to own it, and it used to have a 340 w/ a crossram 2 fours. There used to be a rivalry between the Mitchell and Huron, SD street cars. They used to meet and race outside a small town between them about 25 miles from here. Everybody knew about the old green, beat up Valiant, that cleaned house! They say the rust would fall out of the trunk every time it would launch, and it would hook on 14 inch tires and kick everybody's butt!
I'm thinking it is around 2900-2950 with him in it. We will weigh it and see. I'll post results after Saturday. I hope it doesn't break!

Cool looking ride.
You might be surprised when it comes up about 2800 lbs. Those bodies were small and light.
My old 68 Valiant weighed 2980- all steel, except for fenders and bumpers, all factory glass with an exhaust system.

It came to life tonight! This is a friends 64' Valiant that I've been working on for 18 months now. It's leaving Saturday. We are doing an alignment on Thusday, putting brake lines on Friday, load it in the trailer and off to T&T on Saturday!
I started with this 18 months ago:

This is now:
