Apparently the dude bought it, loaded it, lost it. I'd be curious how far he got.

From low rider to slammed just that quick.

I bet his tie down straps will get a 5 star rating.

Exactly how is that car a “score”?

'67 is an abbreviation of 1967
67' is an abbreviation of 67 feet
They are not interchangeable.

That's too bad.

I've towed a b-body with those u-haul rental trailers a couple times and never had any trouble. I always thought they loaded and towed surprisingly well. As long as he got the front wheels all the way forward he should not have had an issue?

Reminds me of the time I borrowed my buddy's truck with his fifth wheel utility trailer to haul REALLY long power poles home. First bump I hit in the road, trailer bounced and lifted the truck's front wheels off the ground ...drove really slow from there.

Just looking at the vehicle - all the battery weight is in the ass end of the car and there is less weight on the trailer tongue. As soon as he hit 50 MPH I bet you he crapped his pants as that trailer started whipping back and fourth.

I am not rich...but I get off my ass everyday to make sure I am not broke!

Can we get the Mexican cartels to help us with our supply chain issues? They don't seem to have any trouble getting stuff from one place to another.

Probably better but the overhang would have made turns tough.

Trailer sway without a doubt. I towed an '01 Dakota ClubCab 4x4 home from NC behind my '06 2500 on a UHaul trailer. I wound up using backroads to get back as when I hit 55 it would start to sway. blush Add in the trunk full of batteries as mentioned and I don't imagine he got very far unless he was an absolute idiot and kept pushing it.

So, just curious - what are the loading strategies to avoid sway? Is the goal to have the load balanced on the trailer so the hitch isn't loaded much, or is *some* load on the hitch better to plant the rear tires? ..maybe there are different solutions to different situations?
I've towed a few things in my lifetime, and I know what sway can feel like. But my loads and the trailers I used were fairly "ordinary" - construction site office trailers, boats, building materials, etc.

He probably regrets thinking back to the thought of how much money he was going to save towing it himself with a UHaul trailer

Wonder if opted for the insurance? When you rent a u haul trailer they ask you what you are driving and what are you towing to see if it's acceptable. I'm sure the software that figures that out didn't know about the 500 pounds of batteries in the trunk.
