That's a pretty cool rig! Today in town I seen a white gladiator with a black hard top a couple inches of lift the guy put orange/red/yellow stripes on it and scrambler on the hood. looked really cool!

Dennis Collins has been doing Hemi into Jeep swaps for a few years now. Maybe FCA saw how popular his builds have been?

(I couldn't find the specific video I wanted) LINKY

And more recent in a Gladiator.............GLADIATOR

Yes, they must have been paying attention.

How anyone turns those big tires, lift kits and try to move an un-aerodynamic 4900 pounds with the near zero torque of the 3.6 is beyond me.

Can't beat the Factory: hope they do it. up

They only are releasing this to steal some thunder and some press from the Bronco. The Bronco is going to tear the wrangler up in sales next year I am afraid. They fixed all the stuff jeep has been to lazy to fix like door storage, mirrors that stay on when the doors come off. It will have independent front suspension so the majority that never go off road will like the smooth ride and less chance of death wobble.

A 450HP Rubicon would be pretty damn fun though!

I like the doors without the window frames more than the fact that it has a Hemi!

I agree. The full doors on my 2012 Rubicon just seem out of place. Especially on a soft top.

I think the 5.7 would be plenty. Good torque, cool growl to it. Really would like to see it in the Gladiator. drive

Jeep revealed the 392 Wrangler the day before the Bronco reveal, so in order to have a running concept, that is pretty much ready for production, they would have to have been working on it for years already. It's likely the JL platform was already designed with the HEMI in mind. Remember, this is a new platform that has only been out for 2 model years.

Doubtful. The Wrangler created the niche it's in. The Bronco will have a fierce battle to over through the king of the hill. There are so many factors that come into play here, but I think the big one is the numbers we've already seen. The Wrangler sold around 230,000 units last year. The Bronco on the other hand only got 150,000 reservations. We all know reservations aren't sales. An optimistic guess would be that 70-75% of those reservations will be actual sales, but the truth is its more likely to be 60-65%. So expect actual first year sales of the Bronco to realistically be more like 100,000 Units. But, probably about 80% of Bronco buyers wouldn't even consider a Jeep for a number of different reasons, so that means the Wrangler will likely only loose about 20,000 sales. While Jeep wouldn't be thrilled with that they still sell around 210,000. Not exactly a kill it off year. After the hype of the Bronco cools off it will likely do even less damage to Wrangler sales in the second year.

Then there's the real kicker. The MSRP on the Bronco is comparable by trim level to the Wrangler. However, we all know that dealers will be marking them up the first year. Meanwhile Jeep will be 3 model years in with the current Wrangler, meaning they'll already have a return on their investment, so they'll be able to afford to offer discounts on Wranglers, The combination of these 2 factors will make the Bronco significantly more expensive than the Wrangler, and likely secure sales with buyers who have been dreaming about a Wrangler for awhile.

Agree.

The Wrangler pulls it's sales from EVERYWHERE. I bet 90% of it's sales are from Folks who are not loyal to any brand. They buy a Wrangler, drive it for 5 years and move on to a Mercedes, Mazda, Nissan, or Hyundai.........they couldn't tell you what a Chrysler product was if it fell out of a tree and hit them.

This Bronco aint' gonna do it.

The Bronco will be a big hit with the Ford Fanatics wanting to put their Wife in one, but that's about it. I commend them for doing the Bronco and hope they get Blunder Motors' SUV sales. luck

Hi, I have 2015 Wrangler TJ and just wanting to get recommendations for doors off mirror. I 've read such complaints that mirrors they have do vibrate on highways, the mirror is too small that you cannot get the right angle of the vehicle beside you and it's a pain to adjust that it doesn't put into place. Lastly, they cannot find the right mount position. I discovered this link https://jeepundco.com/best-jeep-tj-mirrors-review-and-guideand it seems it is what I'm looking for. I'm leaning on the Probasto door off mirror and want to know what you guys think about it.

Not a Jeep guy, but I love they finally did this.

Nobody in this thread has mentioned the one big issue I see with this...........$77K base price. I know the conversions are not cheap either and this has a warranty and what not, but that is a ton of money for a Wrangler.

I was at the dealership the other day and there was a Jeep Truck thing listed for $81K and it was a regular V6 model. They even displayed its worthlessness by having a bike rack stuck in the receiver hitch with a bike on it, ya know since the bike won't fit in the bed LOL.

^^^^^^^^^^^ this is what is so hard to believe, how ANYBODY can afford that kind of money!
Was in the Jeep place Monday and on the showroom a 4 door, lift kit big wheels, those roll bar doors, sliding canvas roof, sides open to the back, didn’t see what engine but was $88,000. I’d buy a Red Eye for that money. I’ve had 4 jeeps through the years and ALL had a reason to sell. They get old quick, many little nagging things. Like the one said, hellcat engine + jeep = death trap
