Anyone have the casting number for the 426/440 6pack oil pump housing, any pictures? What is a 2124808 casting number housing to? Is that a pre 66 pump housing? Had the 2124811 reaction shaft casting number. Thanks

The Hemi front pump casting number is the same as any other, what makes them unique is the machining to clear the front clutch drum (see pic). The 811 support has the smaller bushing for the pre-'67 19-spline input shaft.

Thanks John, I found some other pumps with the 2466687 casting number. Look similar except for a shorter oil pass at the pump rotor leaving more metal for the rotor and stator to ride on. Saw some different configurations at the outlet vent port in the front, and slight changed to the input with a square shape, vice cylinder shape of your picture. Seems like the casting letter with L you see on the front off the housing may be a casting revision. I have seen, L-2, L-4 even up to L-8, 10 with the casting change for plastic vent.

I then found one with the front hemi drum, so I could actually see the effect. That one, looked like someone may have just grinded the clearance in. It did have an internal baffle that had rounded corners to clear under the drum vice rectangular shape of the normal pump. Which would not clear the drum.

Does the exterior vent shield stay the same for all transmissions in a given year?

Actually seeing how the hemi drum is wider educated me why the clearance mod needed. Besides wider towards the rear for clutches, it is wider towards the pump too, probably for the band. If you compare the drums on table, the hemi drum sits on the outside dia and interior hub is off the table. A normal HD drum sits on that internal hub and the outer width is off the table.

All makes sense now. Thanks.

The exterior sheet metal baffle plate is the same for all.
