Surprised to see them flip a car like this. So far, if you can get past their lack of Mopar history, they seem to have a good plan for the car. I think they overpaid at $16500.

The episode probably won't make to the normal MT channel for another week. After seeing so much of the drama on shows like Garage Squawks, when it comes to Mopars, it was a relief to see a show where they did a "proper job". The assembly of the 727 was the highlight.

I'm bummed that Ant and Mike didn't give me a call. I could've helped them with some parts.

More disinformation being spread by those that don't know about much about Mopar history, the street 426W being the Hi Po V8 engine option in 1965 on production cars, not a 440 motor tsk

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

Yeah I noticed that. I think that was the junior writer at Hot Rod who made that mistake. He didn't know when the 440 became available, just assumed it has always been around or something.

Given the range of vehicles that they buy/sell I am willing to give them a pass on their Mopar knowledge. I have less tolerance for the shows where they claim to be experts on American muscle cars.

I had a picture in my head where Ant took the Coronet home to Christine and told her he was taking her out to dinner in the car. Imagine her reaction.

They don't make any money on their flips. If you watch the show you'll see that they low ball their costs. They do an entire restoration and then claim it only took 21 hours and they don't bill for their labor. They give away their labor just to flip the cars and keep the show going. They don't care, the real money comes from the TV company selling advertising. Nobody cares about what the cars cost or sell for.

They over pay and undersell. So someone is paying for the show.

^^^ Agreed. It's obvious, when you see the final product, and all the work not tallied in their expenses.
It's entertainment, with some insight & education on a variety of rigs, and I'm OK with that.
Pretty sure they have other irons in the fire, and the production $ is covering the bills and then some.

Ant is a talented guy. I liked Edd very much as well, but I thought Ant did a great job replacing him.

I liked Edd, thought he was a great mechanic but perhaps just a big odd in general. Ant is a little nuts but also seems to be very talented fab guy and mechanic. If I was a producer on the show I'd make it a little more realistic but overall it is a pretty good show.

Ant had his own show last year in which he fabricated, completely from scratch, a replica post-war Alfa Romeo Grand Prix car. Verrry impressive skills.

They made it clear in this episode from the beginning , that they did not expect to make $$$$ , they wanted to have fun with the project and hopefully someone would enjoy the car
I dont see an issue with that ???

Mike talks about trying to make money all the time on the show but it is just blabber. If you pay attention to how much money they spend it is obvious that they don't turn a profit on the cars. They make money from advertising, the cars are just entertainment. It would be a good deal to buy a car from that show. I've seen several that they have fixed up that I'd be interested in.
