I have 3,1969 dart swinger 340's. Why did some cars have them or didn't have? I have 1 auto, LA built car, rear torque boxes only. The other 2 are hamtramck built, 1 auto with no boxes at all and 1 4spd with front and rear boxes. I have always wondered what or why the differences. Thanks in adv Ryan

All 4-speed cars should have rears, most automatics had none, unusual to see and automatic with rears. I have owned over 50 performance A-Body's over the last 42 years and only the 383 automatics had rear torque boxes, but not all of them. Torque boxes were much more common AFTER 1969 from what I have seen. Of course all convertibles had front and rear boxes. What engines does your have?

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

I have seen more torque boxes on LA built cars for sure, but since I am in the midwest I have seen many more Hamtramck built cars than LA built though I have spent significant time out west.

Weird just how random my 3 cars are. Interesting all the differences on all these type of things. Thanks Rhino
