This subject comes up every once in a while,....some say there is no such thing as a "sixpack" cable for the 70 B body?...I've never seen one, nor researched if one exists ....I do know the 4 bbl cable fits and works on the 70 B body with a sixpack, as I have a 440/6 in my 70 Charger...the spare 4 bbl cable I have here measures in overall length approx 16 1/2" closed, and approx 20" full open (WOT)...that's yields 3 1/2" of throttle travel

Hope this helps?
Mike

Coming up with part number 3418846 for a six pack & 2899339 for a four bbl. out of a 70 parts catalog. Must be something different.

Which '68-'70 B-body had a V8 (318, 383?) with a 2-barrel carburetor (Holley or Carter), heard that cable works..............same as going to a center 2-barrel on a 3x2 setup I was told, makes sense IMO

I don't remember the lengths anymore but I do know that the 4bbl one I bought from Mopar didn't look right and now joins the 124 other parts that I didn't use in my storage room. I ended up cleaning and lubing my original 6 pack cable.

One of my Chargers is a factory 440 4 BBL car. I have had a 440 4BBL, a 440 sixpack & a dual four 426 Hemi all in this same car all using the same 440 4 BBL throttle cable with no issues.

The one on my sbird measures 20-1/2 from center of ball to center of stud hole. It measures 16-1/2" from the flat that sits against the pedal bracket, to center of stud hole closed, 18-9/16 wide open, limited by pedal bracket. It also appears to have been marked with white paint at the carb end to color code it. Only the forward barrel has the white paint, so may mean nothing. If I recall the cable body is shorter on the 4bbl cable, like 20-1/2 long with a 13-1/4 cable body.

Just want to confirm the cable for sure has white paint on the carb end, and is date coded 316-9, car is nov 28 on the nascar list. Pretty sure it is original, and it is white paint, probably dipped before assembly, wipes off with la quar thinner, and is sticky like paint.

I have also seen nos cables for sale that are supposed to be 1970 6bbl that have red dye stripe where mine is white, and the date code on the black cable.
