GODSCOUNTRY340 OP top fuel Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 2,497 God's Country Maryland	I bought some big block stuff yesterday and this oil pan came with it. Is this a six pack oil pan? There are no numbers stamped in it anywhere. I love the smell of Deer guts in the morning, it smells like... VICTORY!

It’s straight with no bend in the middle, just one at the end. I called them on it and he said “ we’ve been selling this one for years with this pan “. When I told them I measured it and it was off the bottom of the pan too much and I had an nos pickup that fit like it should. His reply was, “ they stopped making that correct pickup years ago so this is all we got” . I was able to heat and bend it to get it in the correct place.

Mopar Mitch pro stock Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 1,442 NW Chicago suburban area	Those front and rear baffles are critical for helping the oil stay in the sump during acceleration (rear baffle) and deceleration (front baffle). Pan would better yet with side baffles for cornering oil control. To my knowledge of BB oil pans, ONLY the six-pack and HEMI engines received those front and rear baffles... no other engines got them (sadly... too bad MaMopar didn't make the baffles a standard design... would save plenty of engines from oil starvation and premature bearing failure during performance driving). Mopar Mitch "Road racers and autocrossers go in deeper and come out harder!"... and rain never stops us from having fun with our cars... in fact, it makes us better drivers! Joe I wonder what Ma Mopar was thinking - not that anyone road raced a 71 New Yorker or took them to the drag strip. Must have been planning on kids taking pops car out to do donuts.

TIA as always for your answer ! That is not a stupid question, that's a very relevant one. At a casual glance the pan from a 1965 426 wedge looks identical to the '66-'69 Hemi pan. But if you put them side by side, IIRC the Hemi pan is about 3/4" deeper. "We live in a time when intelligent people are being silenced so that stupid people won't be offended".

I’ll have to look today but the pan I’m using is the one pictured because the shorter pickup fits it. I don’t want to buy a pan for the long one (unless I have too) but not sure how will fit yet. How far was the pickup they sent you off the pan bottom? I think it was about 3/4” off the bottom, if my memory serves me correctly. It was too high. I tried the correct pickup and it was about 1/16 off the bottom. The wrong one was easily bent in two places with heat and I got it 1/16 off and parallel to the bottom.
