I've never seen a 14x7 road wheel only 14x5.5. What were these offered on and are they rare?

If you look at the backside of the wheel , along the rim edge , you should see a Ford name in a circle.

Also those are really good cores ( the rim shells ) to make 14 x 7 small bolt steel wheels.
Inside of the rim shell is 12.25 , just right for 14 x 7 small bolt or large bolt ralley or steel wheels.

Dont waste your breath with this dork, he wont believe you. He knows it all.

I met him shortly after he moved to spring hill, fl. My great aunt married the guy that developed this town (deltona corp). They also did deltona and marco island.

This clown said if i need to know anything about spring hill, ask him.

What a jerk.

I couldn't find any "Ford "markings anywhere on the wheel but I'm pretty sure that's the answer. appearently Ford made14x7's for Ranchairo's. What's suprising is they are IDENTICAL to MOPAR road wheels in every way!

Thanks guys!

I don't think Mopar or Ford make wheels?
Kelsey Hayes and others probably do that 'for them'...

A different centre hole is the biggest give-away from memory??? shruggy
Don't think that matters with this style of wheel.
Always prefer a 15 incher myself... catfight

Are you talking about Homer in Springfield??? drinking Clem?

Good point and easy to forget Ma MOPAR didn't MAKE every part.
- I didn't measure the hole but looks the same
- Agree, these cars need 15's minimum. I just want to keep an original set for each car

Thanks

Kelsey-Hayes and Motor Wheel both made wheels for the OEMs, likely others did as well depending on volume, construction style, etc.
The "Magnum" centers for the Fords & Mopars seem to be the same dimensions, so the same stamping could be used.
That's not the case with "regular steelies", which has been well-documented.
Several times, I've used Ford 14x7 Magnums on Mopars, and nobody appeared to notice.

The wheels are easier to find than the original brushed trim rings, which were discontinued many years back.

You're right about the center hole. The Ford wheel is pretty much a press fit on the mopar axle center.
I usually remove the lug nuts and have to kick the side of the tire to break it loose. LOL
I have run them for years because they look so good on the back of my 66.

Up until 1970 nobody was making many 15 inch tyres!

I remember being in LA about 15 years ago and I saw a set of 32 inchers on a 4x4.
Things change over the years and guys/gals who stick to 14 inchers are probably are just trying to be true to 60's muscle!

If you are going to fit 1970 single piston disc brakes/calipers then its gotta be a 15 incher I'm afraid... wrench
The old kelsey four pots are a 'mare' at the best of times... realcrazy

Gotta keep it realistic, and make life easy for yourself. drive

My '73 Charger SE had the original 14X6" Road wheels, with the brushed trim rings, still with it when I bought it a few years ago. Looked almost identical to your rims.

Yup, the Ford wheels (which I believe they are) are identical in every way
