I have a 64 polara and one day the head lights came on. No tail lights and no change with the high or low beam indicator. I have checked everything I can think of. I have removed the switch, looked everywhere for a short and nothing. Can anyone help and point me in the right direction.

it could be the fuse.
They might look good but still be burned out.
do your dash lights work?

This almost for sure has to be the switch. BTW, the headlights themselves don't have a fuse, but the switch acts as a breaker.

Switches are readily available and I bet your rheostat for the dash lights wasn't all that good anyway.

tail lights have a fuse.
Which is what op said wasn't working.
It could be the switch, but I would start with the fuse.

My mistake. I took it the headlights came on by themselfs. Yeah, fuse or check the connector down behind the kick panel.
