Do you need a special crankshaft for a spreadbore block? Might pull the trigger on this block. It was never hurt. 1st time going big block. Think about what they had to do to move the cylinder wall centers Better yet call the company that cast that block I'm trying to remember when and which version Mopar racing block came with the 4.84 bore spacing, I'm thinking around when Darrel Alderman started driving for Mopar and those blocks had the distributor in the rear like BB Chevy blocks do, special block, special heads and so on I can't remember the names of those heads either

yes needs indy 600-13 or heads designed for that bores space. the motor will make some serious power so , not sure what you have now but more may need to be upgraded in the car. Even if you end up not using it, it can be flipped. For good info, call Chuck at Best Machine. They have built a few of these 4.84 bore spaced engines and im sure he could fill you in. You can build big cubes as that block can go 4.60 bore

I'm asking if the crank is a special design for a 4.84 bore space. That im not sure of. Chuck at Best Machine would know, also maybe Sasquatch on here would know as he is a dealer for KB,

I'm asking if the crank is a special design for a 4.84 bore space. You could but it isn't necessary. Custom pistons with an opening between the pin bosses to accommodate the offset small end of the rod, or run the rods with enough side clearance to accommodate the offset. I'm sure someone will chime in saying excessive side clearance will kill oil pressure, which is entirely untrue
