Well I own a couple of Mopar classics. Finally in a stage in my life kids are gone and i want to restore them. So how did you research your shop?? what type of contract did you write? I'm retired , would love to find a shop that i can be involved. I do a lot of things myself but haven't done much in paint work. Read an article about dealing with shops by putting money in escrow. You agree on a price , break down the work and when stages are completed the 3rd party inspects and money is released. Understand a lot of guys paint their own cars, this would take a lot longer than i would care to happen. I don't want it to go into Autobody Jail which we all see. I understand the process, of crash work, etc if you pick a dual shop. I don't want a concourse car. Would like hear your inputs, points, facts, thoughts ,recommendations of shops, or ways to move forward. drop me a line if you would like . email par12730@sbcglobal.net thanks Phil

Good luck, I can't help you specifically with any of your questions but this is something to consider when you are picking a shop:

Mike at Huffman auto body is good.
He is in Hadley Pa

Holgar at Supercar restoration is good. But he is in New York

http://www.supercarrestorations.com/

Both stay and are busy,,,, Im pretty sure both will do what ever you ask them to do .

My personal preference between these 2 would be Super Car Restorations,

I have nothing but good to say about Mike Ross. I was screwed over by 2 different body shops before Mike came to my rescue. His shop completed my body along with a few other odds and ends. I finished the assembly myself. My paint and bodywork are beautiful! Mike is currently doing the body of my brother's 67 Barracuda notch.

Mike Ross is a good guy.
You might also try the Finer Details in Indy.. Mosher sold it and the new owners seem to be good people too.

I recently had the Paint and Bodywork for my 71 Cuda done by Mike and his crew at B/E&A Restoration, Mike really knows his stuff and since I live 45 minutes from Mike was able to go help out on my days off to not only help with the cost of the restoration but to feel some satisfaction knowing I was able to do some of the paint prep work. You will not be disappointed with Mikes service and he is a perfectionist with every little detail. Mike went out of his way on countless occasions to make sure my car was exactly how I wanted it. Give a call and see what he has to say regarding your project.

Stopped by Mike's today. He took a big chuck out of his day to go over things with me and show me his shop and work. Very nice cars. Did me right on some parts needed for my son's 72Cuda. Look forward to talking with him again.
