what is the correct lay out on a 74 duster with v21 code/ I have seen these 2 examples. would it be normal orginsol paint on a 74 or just black? Anyone have measurements for a 74?

The hood scoops on a 74 duster that would have been the 69 cuda scoops. Are they coded on the VIN tag?

That second link has some fairly close pictures. I think you should be able to figure out the layout from those.

would the hood be painted on a 74? Phoenix Graphics shows a hood black out stripe kit but to me looks gloss and funny.

Corey, is that a stripe or a stencil kit ?
Stripe kit probably be a monster to apply, because of the front-center area.
I don't think I've ever seen that hood treatment except for photos.

I think it would be painted too. A decal like that would be a lot of work on an assembly line, especially for one person.

Corey, the first pics you show are of my 74 Duster360. The V21 is correct on my car, it is a semi gloss black painted with the stripe (has a larger stripe to border the paint, then a smaller one about 1/4" away from that. I had an original set I sent to Dave @ Performance Car Graphics, years ago. He has made correct set. The correct V21 treatment is the outside part of the hood, with body color on inside.

thats what I was thinking too. often wonder how they did 71 cuda bill board on the lines in 71

^^^ I'd bet V21 & Billboard cars were pulled aside to a separate station.
Probably staffed by workers who could swear with the best.
I can't imagine doing those tasks at normal line speed.

Sorry but I did sell the car a few years back . . . I am sure it was originally painted with organisol, but when I had car repainted, it was "flat to semi gloss black" . . . . in this pic, if you blow it up, you can see the original before it was repainted, where it is painted to the "body line" on the hood, then there is a 1/2" tape stripe, then leave about 1/4" and another 1/4" tape stripe. As I mentioned, Perf.Car Graphics has the correct repro stripe, from an NOS stripe kit I gave to them . . .
