My 440 has developed a miss, which I believe is due to broken rings (again). I have a spare block, but it will need boring, line boring, decking, etc. from sitting for 30 years under the bench. I am not looking to race it, just occasional spirited driving. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 450 to 500 hp. I am looking at either E-Street or 440 Source stealth heads. I will use the Torker II and the Holley Sniper from my old engine. I'll need rods and pistons and a cam package.

My old machine shop has changed hands and I am not sure about the quality of work coming from there. Most of the people I know run GM. Their guys don't know Mopar.

Who would be a decent shop to work with in the Kansas City metro area?

Thanks

74 Challenger, bought it new. In 1978 I replaced the original 318 with a 446 and 727. Mild cam, Jardine headers, and Holley Sniper EFI.
New engine! 511" RB, Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, Eagle rotating assy, Comp hyd roller cam, Doug's 2" headers.

I've heard some negative comments about those guys.
They are close to my home.
I guess I'll go talk to them and see how I feel then.
I have to get the wife on board, so that may take a while.
Anybody else?

Thanks

Edit: After looking at his FB, all I see are GM and one Ford. I would like to find someone who does a bunch of Mopars.

Whats the theory behind this? Is there something magical that must be done to bore, hone, and line hone a Mopar block that GM and Ford guys don't have to do?
My opinion is that an engine is an engine and any machine shop that does quality work should be able to do what you need, its not a super stock engine you are building.

I would think a shop that did a lot of Mopars knows what works and what don't. They also may have used parts in stock. Also, they have experience with Mopars and can recommend different options that arre proven.

Just my thought.
