I have a 96 2500 Ram 4x4 that has the V10 engine. I'm in the middle of an engine swap and have hit a bunch snags. Is there any forums that specialize in the V10 truck engines. Some of the questions I need to find answers for are as follows. Is there a vin number some where on the block or a build date that will lead me to the year of the engine. What internal parts are interchangeable , Like crankshaft, camshaft, and timing parts so as I know the cam and crank sensors will work. Needing to take the 2 1/2 engines I have and stir the pot and have something good come out of it.

Best of luck, you are on the right track to be swapping same year to same year............if nothing matches on those 2 and half engines you might be much aggravation less to sell what you have and buy the same year engine and stay on Easy Street.
