Anyone catch Garage Squad last night? 69 Road Runner finished up. Looked very nice when done. I wish they wouldn't have dyed the white interior to black, but that is what the owner wanted. I bet it would have looked great with the silver exterior on the car.

I had it on in the background with the volume on mute since I was in the middle of something else. but I was cringing when I saw the back seat. The fitment of the cover was horrible, I don't think I've ever seen so many wrinkles and creases on a seat cover!
Otherwise the car looked pretty sharp and I hope I can catch a rerun of the episode sometime when I can devote full attention to it.

Bruno usually screws up any Mopar on the show.

Overall I enjoyed it. Pretty nice project. Not a 100 point show car.....but a great driver.

Yes, one of the better cars on there because paint and body was already really nice. Agreed, back seat looked awful when they were sitting on it and it was loose and wrinkled.

I wish someone in production would tell Bruno his anti-Mopar jokes are tiresome. Every single time they work on one we have to hear at least five of them. We don't give a crap that you're just another Chevy sheep Bruno.

The jabroni's dislike for Mopars isn't the least bit subtle .

Bruno is a jerk much of the time but this episode featured Joe talking about putting a posi in the Dana 60. Joe doesn't usually make mistakes like that. Bruno must be wearing off on him or something.

I was cringing all the way through:

That rear seat cover - not only the horrible fit but missing the center details
Jacking the car up by the radiator support
Insulating material on the engine side of the firewall
Rattle-can interior color change
And more...

Looks like it was originally a B5, white bucket & console interior, 4-speed with AC.
That's a pretty rare combo.

The concept of the show where they go in and help people get their car done is pretty cool but that is pretty much where it ends. They do some hack work and whine about every problem that they encounter as if they have never done this before.

I suspect that it is about 50% reality based at best. Overhaulin is based on a similar theme but these GS people come to YOU t bring a project back from the dead.
When most of the recipients of the show look able bodied, I find that really sad. These guys look like worthless cucks that couldn't change their own oil without buying a repair manual yet they somehow took a car apart and let it sit for years. I've known guys like that....henpecked by their dominant wives and ungrateful kids, it is a sad thing to see a man fall so far from grace.
In the rare instance where the recipient is handicapped, I find the show to be great. It would be a terrible thing to have all the determination but not the ability. This show would be a huge help for those people.

Now Roadkill is a cool show. No whining or bitching. They expect to have problems and breakdown. They do really off the wall crap that no one else does. They tare cars up and run the crap out of them. Drive a car across the country, drag race the crap of it and then drive it back across the country fixing it along the way with bubble gum, tie wire and duct tape. They also have several Mopars.

It would be interesting to do a follow up show and see what happens to these cars after a few years. From what I can tell, many of the people who couldn't get their project done the first time around are the type that will let it fall back apart. Most of the people they help appear to have zero mechanical skills, limited space and limited tools. But I don't really know, it could just be the way the show is edited. I like the concept of helping people finish up their projects. I try to help all of my buddies finish their cars too but I'm not into helping someone who doesn't do any work.

The show has become more and more fake over time. This episode was especially fake since they show up with a week to work on the car but they somehow manage to build a new Dana 60 and a stroker engine in just a few hours. My guess is that each car must take several weeks if not months of prep time so all the parts are lined up before the first fake visit where the team discovers all the parts they'll need. When GS first started it didn't seem so fake. I eventually stopped watching Overhauling because it morphed into a totally unreal fantasy show where they would build full on customs in a week.

I didn't watch this episode but I normally like Garage Squad. They don't show up to do 100 resto but rather to get the car back on the road. I've seen some stuff on other episodes but try to remember....the point is to get the gcar back to running/driving. Most of the other car shows are based around building 6 figure one-off customs that the average guy will never have. Road Kill......I've tried a few times but every time gets a bit more lame (leaf blowers in back of a V8 Monza as an example)

And see I thought that was cool. Can you get boost from leaf blowers which they did. Practical? No. Off the wall? Yes. Putting a Hemi in a 57 Chevy. Who does that? Running a Viper and a Hellcat on a off road dirt track. Totally cool.
Guess I haven't seem any of their newer shows.

I also noticed it appeared they were jacking up from rad support, but figured it couldn't be frown and maybe the scene was cut short. I saw that driver's door appeared B5 on inside, but I think owner mentioned it was in original color. Maybe door got replaced?

I also agree for the most part that GS isn't trying to build a show car or pretend to, but rather just getting something running again. They often leave rust bubbles, etc.

I like most Roadkills, but some of their antics go a bit too far, but the guys on the show are good, and like people I would've hung out with in high school, and it's usually entertaining with Mopars (for me anyway).

If I was on the GS crew I would not have gone along with spray dye for the interior. I would've said that is a hack solution that will come off on your clothes every time you drive the car so lets just leave the seats as is and down the road the owner can buy some new seat covers. The car would run just fine with a white interior so there was no reason to spray dye on everything. I generally agree with the other stuff they did although I don't know why they gave the guy a stroker engine. If he had the parts sitting in a box then that is one thing, but it seems like the producers just decided to juice the car up a bit. If they are going to juice the cars up a bit they should do stuff that makes sense such as converting to EFI and disc brakes and stuff like that which actually makes the car better.

Been looking for new episodes, and missed this one. The ones they did on the '69 Super Bee and '69 Charger weren't bad. And I liked the Lil Red Express too.As far as the fizzy can interior paint, I had a '79 Power Wagon years ago that had the Lil Red style seats in it for my DD. The driver's seat was shot, but a buddy had a perfect one out of a Ram Charger, that was red. Went to the Car Quest and got a can of black vinyl paint. Drove that truck for several years before it started to wear off the edge.

They mainly work on cars around the Chicago area, I have sold a few parts to some of their projects and dropped by a couple of the places to drop them off. I do wish they would add a couple of experts of a particular brand while they are working on it. I liked the job they did on the straight axle shoebox Chevy, and got the Mustang running for the wife of the late owner. The Duster they did was for a guy I know, and I haven't heard anything bad about the build afterwards, though they did have issues with headers, like I said, if they only had an expert on each build... tsk

I did the same. I bought a Lil Red style seat out of a junkyard truck and it was tan and I bolted in my 68 D100. I rattle canned the seat black and drove the truck for years. It did finally start to wear the black down on the edge, but I sold it before I touched it up, which would have been easy...
