I got on tonight and immediately noticed my Adblock Plus was nowhere to be found! How can it delete itself from my computer? So I go back to Adblock Plus to reload it and all it tells me that "This item has been disabled by Chrome" Then there is a button to reload it, but it will not. What should I do now? shruggy

Chrome is part of google, they will force you to see their ads. Try Firefox, Brave, Waterfox, Opera, etc.

And, if you switch to Mozilla, you will have to find an older version (56.0.1) that will run Ad Block Ultimate. The newer versions will not run it and there are no options for a replacement when you search for add ons.

You then have to shut off all updates, and disconnect from the internet whenever you are away from your computer or the Basterd will "upgrade" itself and Ad Block will no longer work. If, for some reason this does happen, system restore will get you out of it.

It may sound out-dated, but I have absolutely zero issues that many are griping about on here with ads or anywhere else for that matter.

uBlock Origin. It's available on Chrome.

I use Ublock Origin.

But it could be that Chrome has updated, and the old Ad-Block doesn't work, or causes problems with the updated Chrome. So they disabled it until the app is updated as well.

A friend of mine suggested a few years ago that I go to Linux. I still have it today. My wife can't run it on her computer because it won't run some of her programs, but I have not had ANY issues with any unwanted ads or pop-ups as long as I keep the security settings on high. Now, there are some sites that demand that I drop my security settings so that they can insert ads or they won't let me see their site. Well screw them, I just move on. Mopar Connection on here is at the top of that list.

Linux/Chrome/Adblock Plus on my ancient Dell laptop at home....works flawless. Win 10/Chrome/AdBlock Plus here on my work laptop...no issues here either. Love the Linux Mint at home...fast/safe/stable/no anti-virus required and free!
