well you gather parts for what you're driving.Used to have a decent stash of second gen Charger stuff. Then the garage burnt down. Got a finished road runner now, so just have some smalls. Parted a few trucks, keep what I can use, and sell extras. Love to find a parts truck, but few and far between around here. But years ago when I finaly got to put up a garage and have stuff sorted out, if I looked at a part and didn't know what it was...bye bye.

The tendency in humans to collect parts that might be useful in the future,
probably started many thousands of years ago with humans who collected old rocks that might be useful in the future.

If there is a gene for hoarding
it probably has really helped humanity over all
even if it sometimes goes a bit too far in taking away living space sometimes.

If it is a sin, it ain’t the worse sin.

i grew up around people that went through the great depression, and that instilled in my [feeble] mind to NOT throw away ANYTHING that might be useful in the future.
