So I have put some money down on another 1957 D100 its a V-8 with a 4 speed in it now. The question that I have is will a later model bell bolt up the motor thats in it now.
I believe that the truck has the original motor and trans still in it. Thanks for the help..

The pre-'62 V-8 crankshaft flanges are way different and they extend further from the block, so you need an adapter to use the later bellhousing.

Hard to say for sure without knowing exactly what engine is in it.......I believe the original V8 in this "should" be a 315 Dodge Poly.

John is right about the crankshafts and needing an adapter. The Dodge Poly's will take the same adapter as the first generation Hemi's which are available from several sources including Hot Hemi Heads.
