The duster is a 71. In 71 you get a better flowing intake manifold, and a higher cfm carb (thermoquad), but you have a much worse flowing passenger exhaust manifold when compared to a 70. It also is all cast iron and heavy. Congrats Dave and Rick, the cuda is stunning!

I didnt realize that the regular hp exhaust manifold cars (A12's) were now on the sunny side of 130 mph.

Yes, and look at the cars that are below it. wink

Would like to know more about this car. work

I feel the pain of trying to explain F.A.S.T. cars to "car people"..............it's like talking to a brick wall.

A D/SA Duster at 3125 pounds stock intake carb no porting stock stroke with a .451 lift cam went 9,96. No telling how many cubes that Duster has

Ok FAST experts, non Mopar question, wonder why there isn't a 70 model LS6 Chevelle on that list somewhere? shruggy

Weight. They were heavy...3900-4000 lbs. The LS6 doesn’t get you anything visually over any any other big block Chevy. The L88 vette is tops cause that allows you to use aluminum heads.

Now a ZL1 clone would net you another 100ish pound savings over other chevies!

It’s really simple.
No one running that combo has put forth the $$$$ and effort to make it happen.

I highly doubt that combo would be a contender for the top spot, but I have no doubt one of those could be on the top 30 list with a high effort build.

Shows my non Mopar ignorance, I thought the LS6 was an aluminum head engine...

Where do you get the 2.12 0-60 MPH number from?

Wallace has a calculator that you enter your 1/8th mile time and mph and it calculates 0-60.

'63 Dodge 330

Same basic engine combo in the 67 Chevelle that’s on the list.

I watched the video of the Hemi Cuda and noticed the rear chassis rising after staging the car before the launch. Does that mean that the pinion snubber is being used and is adjusted close to the chassis? I was told that Dave was not using the snubber on his Road Runner.

That’s just the engine pushing against the converter. Mine does the same thing but worse.

No. The differential pinion is moving up, trying to flip the diff over backwards, the opposite direction of the wheels trying to rotate forward. (...for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.). This tries to wrap up the leaf springs into an S, and plants the rear down towards the ground, which lifts the body.
A snubber, once it contacts the floorboard takes advantage of this further and plants the rear even harder and further cause the rear of the body to rise even more.
