Which one are you useing with. Methanol and a carb.I know some who use the 02 sensors and seems to get there set up all messed. And was told sensors don't like methanol. Was told if you put the EGT.senors 2 inch out from the flange. I could get the info I needed.to set up my.engine. thanks

O2 sensors are a much better tool for tuning.
The best thing you can do is never again talk to the person who told you "sensors don't like methanol". the only time i had any issues is tuning blown methanol because my sensors won't go below 4.4, with a carb you should be nowhere close to 4.4.

FYI on the dyno i can use both 8 EGT's and up to 10 O2's and i can not remember the last time i hooked up the EGT's

I have both a 1250 gas carb and an 1150 alcohol carb for my 572 so yesterday I welded in fittings for both egt’s and O2 sensor and will hook both up to my RacePak. You just have to set the channel on the O2 sensor to the fuel you are running. I welded my egt fitting 1 1/4 inches away from the flange like I did on my small block Duster.

If your going to run any type alcohol you need to buy the proper O2 sensor for alcohol, NTK brand are my choice. Not cheap, but what good parts are cheap

I haven't done a lot of egt testing on piston motors, but for rotary, I use 02 for the setting of the fuel map, I use EGT for the timing map along with the dyno torque reading, we only have 2 exhaust ports to check on a 2 rotor so its easy . Once I have the engine making the power I think the combination should make, I then check the egt's to make sure they are in the zone, if too hot, I bring the a/f's richer to control the egt.
A lot of people just tune for maximum best torque and then start melting things.

Put in a bung for both sensors and you can get a base reading and know what they indicate. With the alky I think flooding the o2 sensor on shutdown may be a problem

I never welded in my egt bungs on my new SS Headers. Sold my set of EGTs
