There was a '64 300 in the local yard today. As I was pulling the shock plates I noticed something screwy.

Lol all those years and nobody fixed it, owner probably thought the dealer was just "terrific" too.

Apparently drag racing in reverse was popular in '64....

Is it a 300 letter car(J) or a non letter car?
Is there reinforced steel snubber plate welded into the driveshaft tunnel above the snubber or not?

64 300 letter car would be a K, I had a sport series 64 300 and it came with a snubber, I can recall the shiny spot it made on the floor pan, but I'll be darned if I can remember if it had a reinforcement, probably not.

The one pictured is to keep the drive shaft from beating up the floor pan after the bolted in upside down snubber takes out the rear u joint. You guys just lack imagination. grin Gene

Actually, I'm more interested in the helper springs myself. Looks like a raised perch and a cut off coil that fits around the bump stop.

Is this a lowrider?

Only on one side?
