Stopped & looked at this a little while ago - no rust anywhere, & front plate is a TX. Truck plate. 360 4 bbl, air, PW, etc. Needs a repaint & basic interior re-do to make it mint. I have NO idea what something like this is worth. Any estimates?

I'll guess that the asking price is $10k, at least.

Mike.

Run good? No smoke, knocks ticks? Hatch sits low on right side at least, maybe both. Hinges?
I'd say $6,500 to $8,500

Neither, we still had the old style plates then, three numerals, three alphas. Truck plates, IIRC were two alphas, four numerals. You could register it either way in Texas. I can't say I'm up on prices of these, but I think this one is two prices. 2¢

I agree with the above.. If it was "done" it might fetch $13,500. As it sits, half that. I get it; they don't grow on trees, but the nicest of them doesn't bring great money. Looks like a good one though...

You missed my point.

The bumpers have been swapped.

Was the plate already on the 'new' bumper?

Or does the plate actually belong to the truck?

If I'm seeing it correctly, that plate style was introduced in 2012.

Texas no long has a truck specific plate for PU's and vans.

The sell sheet on the truck said nothing about where it was from, but IF it spent its life in Michigan, it never saw any winter driving. The body was totally solid. Frame & underneath were mildly crusty, but not rust-belt crusty. I'd believe it was from TX - a dry area. I am not going to pursue this. If it was up for $5k, I'd have bought it already. It was just very unusual to see something clean like this for sale here.

I would say that is VERY much a dealer price, and not a private party price. MAYBE max $9k if you really really want it.

I am a dealer. I have seen plenty of private party prices i scratch my head about wondering why its priced so high. Many private parties flip stuff and are way greedier than many dealers i know.
We get people quite often that come In on stuff we have on the internet and they ask.... “ Whats wrong with it, at that price”
You would be mighty surprised

I'm not saying private party sellers don't overprice all the time. If they are flipping it, they are pricing as a "dealer", licensed or not. I'm just saying this would quite possibly be a fair price for a dealer. A dealer is a for-profit organization, and has to make a fair profit. I don't think this is crazy priced either way, dealer or private, but leans high for private party. I see similar ones with dealers in the mid to high 20's, and they sit on them for long time.
