Was a White dash pad and dash ever available in a 71 B-body? My memory is a bit foggy but I've seen E-body's with white dash pads / dashboards but every restored white interior B body I've seen had a black dash. I'm thinking your memory may be foggy, as mine is sometimes, but E-bodies never came with a white dash or pad.

A white dash pad would be a liability. You can hardly see out for the glare. I'd tend to disagree, back in the day I drove a relative's Cadillac for a short period of time (1968 or 69 IIRC) that had a white interior/dash, and glare/visibility was never experienced that I can recall....

Lol. I guess it depends upon where you live. In Texas, the sun shines everyday. To say it is bright, is an understatement. A piece of white paper on the dash reflects like a spotlight. I sometimes think I want a convertible. Then I realize that you need that top for a shade. Driving my little tractor around in the summertime makes you understand why they make shades/cabs for those now. I’ve got three white interior ebodies and all have black dashes.

You want bright try Colorado. More sunshine than Florida and more intense with the higher altitude. I live at about 5000ft. which the UV's are 10% more than at sea level. Get up to 10,000ft. like at the east end of my county and were talking 20%. White is so bright you gotta wear shades.

I usually don’t make it all the way out to where you are but I bet you are right. We go to Pagosa springs and head up to Williams creek area. I can get sunburned out fishing all day in July at high altitude if I don’t have a big hat.
