What do you guys think about the plenum casting job by edelbrock on this super victor? I think I am going to send it back to summit for an exchange. For $475 I would think the quality would be better. Is this normal for their castings ?

Q.C. took a shift off for sure.
I'd send it back.

Looks petty rough. Mine is an earlier casting and came looking much better. For the money spent, I would exchange it.You haven't mentioned port alignment check or fit.Mine is excellent in all these areas, checked on an iron block with Victor heads so I know they have the capability to produce a quality piece. They may have to open a couple boxes before they send you a new one. Bill

I'm guessing you've never looked at an Indy casting !!!

Pretty typical of stuff coming out of the Edelbrock camp lately. TrickFlow is well over a year now as far as quality control goes for their new small block manifold being released. It’s very fixable and would be if you are getting it ported but when you spend over 400.00 for it many would expect to bolt it on as I wouldn’t do that to any out of the box intake. My buddy spent over 600.00 for a Chevy Dart intake and it flowed worse than a victor jr I worked on for him.

1970 Duster
Edelbrock headed 408
5.984@112.52
422 Indy headed small block
5.982@112.56 mph
9.42@138.27

Livin and lovin life one day at a time

Yeah that is what Edelbrock stuff looks like these days. Their castings used to be a lot nicer, now they look like what Indy sells. Trick Flow seems to have the nicest castings these days for Mopar engines. I think Edelbrock quality went downhill once the business was sold.
