No 70 small block had the skid plate. My AAR don’t. No deep pan for a small block.

Well, no small block had a deep pan from the factory that requires a skid plate on a 70 b or e. A 383 did not have a deep pan in 70. Those were the only k frames that should have the 52 coin for an ebody. They have been selling those skid plates for people to add on for a long time. It could be a factory mistake as well. A 52 coin on a skid plated k frame is not the normal. All three of my 52 coin cars are the original untouched k frames. I’ve not heard of any TA or AAR that are known to have skid plates. That would be an interesting question to ask the ebody crowd.
All my 52 coins are round.

My 1/71 GTX has no skid plate or coin,I suspect the K may have been changed,the car was stuffed earlier in its life. If the front of the K-frame is a stamped production date, that may help identify things.
