Does anyone make the correct roofrail weatherstrip channel screws with the teeth on the underside of the head?

I pulled a screw out of the weatherstrip channel on my 71 Challenger. It was a #12 x 1/2" (i measured) MUCH thicker screw than I thought. I know its OEM cause it has the serrated teeth on the bottom of the head.

Had my local screw supplier search for this screw. Said they couldnt find any #12 screws that short.

I dug through the parts books. Looks like these THICK screws are just for E bodies, 70-72 Dusters and Demons. Odd.

70 had smaller diameter screws. 71 up were bigger. Not sure of the size. I’d have to look at my parts cars.

Thank buddy! No, I was just doing some research cause a customer needed some. Looks like a competitor (that I'm not real fond of) is the only company making them. Not sure why they black oxide their reproductions when the originals were clearly zinc. Looks like I'll have to have some made. Maybe in stainless.

PS I see people selling some Chevy, step headed screws on Ebay. Look to be 1/2" #8's that they claim are for all Mopars (clearly not E bodies or 70-72 Duster/Demons). Anyone have a picture or info on what is probably the only other size weatherstrip channel screw.

PPS Wonder why the hell they would make these E body one so much larger? E bodies are the only cars with the weatherstrip channel and stainless drip rail that are stacked/sandwiched but that wouldnt require more powerfull attachment. Heck even the serrated underside of the head seems like overkill.

I bought a set of the smaller diameter screws from this eBay seller. The listing has some good details about the two sizes.

That is some good info. Thanks. Man so many stupid little details. Wonder how many guys buy generic "roofrail weatherstrip channel screws" only to find out they are TOO LOOSE cause 71-74 E bodies are the #12's. #12 x 1/2" "modified truss head screws are custom made ONLY. They are not available from any screw manufacturer. No one makes a #12 screw thats just 1/2" long. Shortest is like 1-3/4"
