WOW! Pretty ballsy of the seller to admit on the internet to a felony, and even provide photographic evidence... tsk

Maybe the seller isn't the one who had the VIN and title changed. It seems weird that he would go through the trouble of changing the paperwork and then be so open about it in the ad.
Either way, there's no way I'd bid on a car with a history that's that sketchy.

I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole because I'd always be looking over my shoulder expecting LE to impound and crush it.

Danged shame too, that is a great shade of blue.

Here is the deal on that car, the seller is being very open and honest vs trying to pass it off as a real hemi car.

I wont state exactly who but someone was bamboozeled in giving a loan on this car as it was represented as a real hemi car. Far more then the asking price.

The car last time was listed as a real Hemi until this seller was informed it was not a real hemi car. Months passed and he did his homework and delt with the proper people. Its my understanding hes done his homework and can sell the car as is as its listed with full disclosure.

At least hes being honest in a at times not so honest mopar world.

There are many listings on this car going back a few years as a real hemi,

This was the last time before seller was informed it was a fake.

I dont have nothing to do with the car but thats the backstory on it with this current seller.

Amen to that. Glad to see the seller is now upfront on the changed numbers, but if LE gets wind of it, best case is it gets an assigned VIN, worst case is it gets crushed.

Horrible pics, no pic or discussion of a fender tag. Is that supposed to be B3 blue? Looks lavenderish, but that’s probably the indoor lighting.

Seems like a moot point to me. If it had a fender tag, it would be as phony as the dash VIN and door sticker. And since the VIN has already been altered, who knows what other phony info they would have stamped on it.

What a shame- I wouldn't mind owing a 383 4 spd Cuda Convertible. Jeez.I hate crooked people. Now a great car sits in limbo. I would be terrified to buy something like that, even with full disclosure. I wonder if there is a state where you could work back to the original BS27N0 designation if you could produce enough documents.

I think if done correctly with LEO involved a State issued VIN could be put on this car and you would have a good driver at half the price, that's the only way it should be sold IMHO...

I don’t know about other states, but I went through nine kinds of hell to get a state issued vin on a 71 challenger. That car had nothing on it. Can’t imagine the nightmare it’d be to get one issued with fraudulent stuff showing. I started with a bill of sale and luckily that guy played ball for six months to help convince the brown shirts to give me a state vin for that car. It was an ordeal and a half. Wouldn’t like a try with this car.

I have been through it with a 67 Dart GTS and it was no big deal. The VIN plate on a 67 is on the door post and was removed then lost after a color change. This car probably has the hidden VIN's on it still which would make it even easier!

Im trying to recall the conversation I had with the seller a good bit of time ago. This car was re tagged semi long ago and has changed hands several times before going to Cali (some used to be found on the web) and I think thats the states reluctance to put a state vin on it. It seems nothing in the numbers come back as stolen. NOW I may be a bit off on my info but thats what im thinking.

About all I can suggest is if someone is really interested in the car, speak to the seller, I dont think hes trying to get over and it sounds like if the car would sell for 150k hes still way in the red.

I wouldn't touch it.

But i gotta give props to the owner being upfront about it.

The next owner may not be so open about it.

I would think if Galen came up with it originally being a 383 cuda, that is all that is known to him. No other info so it could of had any transmission, been any color etc. The original dash tag, fender tag and build sheet are gone. It's a clone and needs a state assigned vin.

I will ASSUME there is no proof of the car's original VIN - only assumptions

tags have been swapped in recent years in an attempt to make it better - it was on display at MECUM Houston a few years ago before fan
