As you get deeper into the pages thing become more current.

Since PP is world wide they seem to do as they wish, JCC im sure you did nothing wrong as it seems the do this to alot of people, hell im afraid to change my selling habits now.

There are options to PP, I use PP and a small merchant account thats simple to use and no crazy junk like PP, its more small business oriented but anyone can use it and its a hair cheaper then PP.

But an internet search would show its pissed alot of people off.

If consent is denied, what happens?

I'm guilty of deleting these email updates to policy. I know I should be reading them!

I may be not understanding the receipt thing. Is it because NEW items are being sold on ebay without receipts?? I can only assume that since so may packages are being stolen from peoples front steps and being sold on ebay that ebay wants proof of the item being purchased originally from the seller?

Although from 2018 this takes of PP wanting receipts of items sold.

Have you changed up what your selling or selling style to bring attention to yourself.

Id half to tell them to go to hell myself.

Do you guys not have "e-transfer" capabilities in the U.S. whereby you can instantly transfer funds from your bank account to anyone else? If I'm dealing with someone in Canada I can send them any amount of money for a flat rate of $1.50.. Receiving funds has zero cost attached. And as far as security, its all done via email so the sender has no visibility to any banking info.

Currently Paypal has very little to offer other than cross-border funds transfer in my opinion. And they screw you by taking a percentage as opposed to a small flat fee.I hate Paypal as much as I hate Ebay.

I view eBay is a necessary evil, like Google. I've been there for ages and finally relented and just updated my account to accept payments with eBay's 'new but far-from-improved system. The old version with PayPal was pretty nice, never had an issue, could transfer funds either way at my discretion. Now I have to have a bank account (and a PayPal account is NOT an option) and specify if I want daily or weekly deposits into that account. I had to verify mailing and contact info, and add the routing number for the account, but no other info was needed. No picture ID, no 'receipts' or any of that stuff....

About 3 months ago while trying to pay for an eBay purchase with paypal, my paypal account came back with similar messages and requests for information. I could not proceed. I called paypal and after a bit of screwing around got to a point where they would call me back at a certain time. It was about a 20 minute wait for the call.

The paypal person seemed confused as to why this had happened. Simply asked me a couple of my security questions which had been established years ago, reset my account and that was it. I've not had any problems since and did make it a point to monitor credit card activity for a while to make sure nothing had been compromised. I got the distinct impression while on the phone there was something that had happened at their end which they didn't care to share with me. That may be my own normal paranoia.

I long for the days when eBay was an on-line flea market rather than an Amazon wanna-be. But those days are long gone. frown

Yesterday I had the same problem with Paypal. It was triggered by an ebay seller sending a refund for damaged parts as "friends and Family". I could not send paypal all the info that they asked for because I had no receipt so I sent an e-mail with an explanation and the transaction number for the payment that was being refunded. They took the limitation off my account in about 12 hours from my sent e-mail.

I have the feeling that different state AGs are putting some heat on eBay for facilitating fencing operations. Here's an example of why, perhaps: https://www.sfgate.com/crime/article/Bay-Area-Medicine-Man-caught-in-biggest-retail-15628696.php

OMG you're not kidding!!!! The keyword spamming, the multiple listing of the same item by dealers, the listing in wrong category, and on and on with the annoying issues that are making it nothing but a nuisance. And ebay seems to sit back and do nothing about it, and just collect their fees.
