I would like to see where everyone that runs a oil accumulator installs the feed line at on a big block. Any pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I just run an oil filter bypass sandwiched between the pump and filter. Have done that on several engines and have that on my Hemi now. The accumulator gets used more as a pre-luber than anything else anymore.

Here's a pic of it on during mock-up:

We used a Milodon billet oil pump with the 2 -10 fittings. We plumbed that to a external filter mount, and then "Teed" off the motor feed side with the accumulator.

I use one of the ports at the back of the block above the bellhousing.

Indy Max pump has two fittings. Mine has the pick up in one, accumulator in the other.

T it where the oil pump goes. What I’m doing on 340, doing away with the filter.

I have never used the new 3 quart one I bought yet, I will install it into a #12 AN Tee on the return line going to the block, not the pump side tsk, from the remote (#12AN) oil filter line up
I did install one on a customers 426 street hemi motor years ago by drilling the rear of the stock drivers side oil passover passage a little bigger( from 1/16 or maybe 1/8 NPT) to maybe 1/4 NPT wrench
But looking back now I think it should be used on the front of the motor to feed oil into the motor from a bigger line like when being run , not from the back through a very small hole tsk work shruggy
I think it needs to supplement the oil supply when needed if the pressure drops enough to allow it to work, not fight the oil pressure coming in from the front of the motor from the oil pump when the pressure drops a little work I hope this thinking make sense luck

has anyone done an accusump install that was "hidden" from the engine bay ?
i'm thinking of something like this for the new engine in my charger.
i'm looking to "hide" as much as possible, the underhood clutter.

I wouldn’t call it hiding, but mine was mounted between the two seats behind the shifter. Manual ball valve for priming etc...
There was enough weight out front.
Track techs didn’t like it, but nothing(at that time) in the rules saying no. Don’t know about today’s rules.

Depends if you have to pass tech and which tech. Road race tech allows the oil tank in the passenger compartment but NHRA doesn't. For road race cars we used to put the accumulator on the roll cage behind the driver. For drag cars we put it in the trunk between the wheel wells.

That seems like a lot of line and slow response time back to engine. Ok for a pre Oiler I guess

I don’t see what would make you think this. The oil line is not empty.

We mounted ours under the radiator, 3 qt Canton. You can barely see it. We got one as added insurance, the car is a wheelstander and has a shallow sump for ground clearance.

I thought about mounting mine inside the front fender, I think it would fit on the Challenger, YMMV.......

i would like one because when done, my car most likely will not be started every other day, and i don't like a dry start. also, i don't want to have to pull the distributor all the time to spin the oil pump over for a pre-lube.
as i stated before, i want a clean under hood look.
i don't want it in the passenger compartment for several reasons, although mounting it underneath the floor or under the trunk floor with a remote switching device/valve might deserve serious consideration. thanks for that idea whomever suggested that ! up

Not a big block , but here is where my 3 qt. Moroso sits on an early A body.
Hood closes with no issues , and it is hilarious to hear people point at it and tell their buddies that it is a " Nitrous system " at cruise nights.
I have told people what it is when they ask , but correcting people just doesn't go well some times so I allow them their illusions.
Yeah............three times and counting.
