Anyone recognize this car. Maybe some one on Moparts may have owned it?

I got real close to owning it when it was out in CA. It bounced around from St Louise to Wyoming then CA. What a shame it’s numbers matching with docs. Now it will have a salvage title if rebuilt.

Looks like it could be repaired pretty easily. Hard to believe that was totaled.

To me, it looks like the passenger side frame rail is tweaked where the bumper was mounted. If it is, there's probably more damage than what's easily seen.

Frame rack time is pretty cheap, at least around here. We had an '87 Daytona Shelby Z with the engine bay (the whole thing) shoved over to the passenger side about an inch-and-a-half. $350 later the car was straight...

That's what I'm talking about - if the frame is twisted or swayed. Looks like it could be pulled, & replace the fender apron & core support if necessary. Now if the A-pillar, cowl, & roof are damaged, that might be another story. Can't tell 100% in the photo, but to me it does not look really terrible. It's a NICE looking car BTW.

The pass side frame end has 'frame bent' written on it, so that is probably what got the salvage certificate. That and the lack of parts for the insurance company.

Except for the parts availability, that is not a hard fix. Any frame rack can bring that frame end into place. Or splice a replacement on it. I have a few parts for the car, but not all of it. And I can bid on Copart, if anyone just has to have it.

Master, again and still

How difficult is it to buy a car/truck from Copart? Is there anyone on here that has bought vehicles from them before? I am thinking I might want to get a wrecked car/truck with the 8 speed in it so I have all the necessary parts/electronics/wiring. I would like to know how the process works from bidding to delivery etc. I heard there can be a bunch of hidden fees and something about having to put money in an account first prior to bidding?

Just an FYI if not aware, they make 3 different 8 speeds, the V6 one, then the two V8 ones, one (8HP70) good for 516lbft and one (8HP90) for 664lbft.

Ill check out the vids..

Yes, 3 different 8 speeds... I would be looking to get the 8hp70 that is behind the V8s, not Hellcat. I don't think the V6 will bolt up to a V8 and the 8hp90 is too expensive and I think the case is actually bigger. The idea is to put it behind my freshened 318 (junkyard jewel style) so I won't come close to the limits of the 8hp70.

If the previous owner was nice enough to put it all in the glovebox or console, it has a chance to stay with the car. The lot monkeys at IAA/Copart do a lot of stupid stuff, though. I mean, the move cars with skid steers, and frequently damage the cars when doing so.

If the previous owner didn't leave it in the car, no chance it stays with the car.

I saw a gorgeous red example of that leaving a cruise-in in downtown Owensboro last Saturday night.

Well, the answer to the million dollar question is right there on Copart.
Owner: State Farm

The owner might have got a good settlement and decided to take the money and walk away, but I doubt that is the case. Unless things have changed, the owner probably got moved right to the Total Loss Claims department and got soaked by a low-ball offer because State Farm won't do agreed upon value and they won't fix a car damaged that bad. DAMHIK

Go Hagerty.

I’m listening.

Same here, learned my lesson with Snake Farm and classic vehicles, even the most minor damage goes right to Total loss Claim and pennies on the dollar value offer....basically a go f4ck yourself response regardless of your terms/conditions....
