What is the best way to change strut rod bushings ? What all parts need to be removed? This is a highly detailed (nicely painted) car that I need to be very careful with to avoid/minimize scratching during disassembly and reassembly. 67 Dart.

I'm surprised there isn't a way to just remove the strut rod?

I'm surprised there isn't a way to just remove the strut rod? The strut rod isn't designed to be easily replaced. The engineers assumed it would last a long time, maybe the life of the car. It isn't a scheduled maintenance item so there no reason for it to be easy to replace.
