I'm getting ready to, hopefully, make a motor for a potential customer who has some Indy 572-123 ported heads with Jesel paired shaft rockers and so on, I'm wondering what those heads are known to flow at .700, up to .900 valve lift help
Are they anywhere close to the standard Koffel prepared ported B1 heads? help
Thanks in advance for all your help on these up

Cab, my heads are 440-1 with 2.30/1.78 valves and fully ported. The 572-13 heads are the same casting but are rolled 2 degrees from 15(440-1) to 13. The exhaust valve was moved over to allow up to a 2.35 intake. A single 4 bbl 572 with the 572-13 ought to be able to match the 926 hp i made on my 550, and do it with a more liveable cam. 950 hp at 7000 rpm shouldn't be hard to reach, just lots of compression, about 285/296/114 cam with gross lifts of .850+ and .800. .043 rings, gasports, 15.1 compression, coated skirts on the pistons. That is what i have. alky and mechanical fuel injection.
A ported tunnelram/hat injection deal should be able to touch 1,000 hp.

The guy who ports our heads got around 410cfm, @ .850" IIRC on his bench. Hand ported, he said he wouldn't go any further as it would likely lower the numbers. It's a moot point really as we don't go any higher than .750 on the currently installed cam, at that lift IIRC it was 390. Again from memory, he was impressed with the mid flow numbers.

On my bench, tested on a 4.500 bore..... the cnc365’s flow about 385, and the cnc385’s flow right about 400.

I’ve seen the 385’s I had here also display some tendencies to have the numbers start to drop off/back up in the upper lifts(.700-.750), then they just kind of stall.
Not every port though. It seems like some are right on the edge of that happening.

A few years ago I freshened a set of original B1’s from Koffels that had what appeared to be their “stage 1” type of job.
Valve job, bowls, chambers....... flowed about 390@.800(really good for the amount of porting involved).
