270 heads will make 700 to 800 hp out of the box so it just depends how heavy the car is and how well it hooks up. I have one customer who is running 9.70 in a 3500 lb B body with 270 heads on a 505 shortblock. No reason they couldn't go faster in a lighter car.

Here is one article where I used 270 heads on a pump gas 470 low deck engine that made 750 hp. This engine had a bunch of high dollar parts in it that the average bracket guy isn't going to want to duplicate, but it still shows the potential of the heads.

It depends on which fuel your using, the compression ratio, type of use, race or street or and so on shruggy
E85 fuel doesn't like hot plugs and a lean mix on pump gas or race gas like them colder shruggy

The ones that are the correct heat range for the engine.

I'd probably use a NGK with a 7 heat range but I'd call NGK tech line first. They have a lot of plugs that will fit that application so it kind of depends on how much money you want to spend. A basic plug would be this one: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ngk-4644

On your deal I would use either Autolite race plugs #3911 or the colder #3910 scope twocents
Or the street resistor plugs like Autolite # 3922 or 3924 scope

Call the NGK tech line and see what they recommend for your engine. I'm pretty sure they'll recommend a 7 heat range rather than the 6 that you are using.

Andy ,
Not sure there is a ngk help line down here .as a daily driver the -6 is fine especially with biggish cam and 4500 carb .
Dont forget we dont get oxygenated fuel here . Our octane probably equeals your 95/96 ?
I actually talked to ICE ignition here a few years ago and they recommended a -6 .
I have not had pinging or any sign of preignition . No matter weather or engine temp , long highway or city driving .
Its a bit like beer , got to try it to see if you like it

You can cross the plug into the Ngk race series as well and go pretty cold.
