Hello, I'm in the process of doing a cam swap on my 13 5.7. The directions I have instructed me to find the marks on the chain and the two gears . Simple enough. Here's where I run into an issue. I can't line the rectangle to the dots. I've rolled the engine over several times, and the lower rectangle is always one tooth off from the dot. What am I doing wrong?

When I put the new cam in my 5.7 I had an iPad with me and kept this video up at all times. I just played it along as I went step by step. Byron explains why the marks don't line up and after you start turning it over, they will never be in the same position again. One side of the chain has a longer travel than the other. I hope this helps. It helped me.
