Had a fun afternoon. After work, I met Ralph to take a few pics of the Duster. Long story short, Neighbors came outside, Burnouts ensued, and fun was had by all! The slow Digital camera couldn't catch the burnouts fast enough, so I'll just post some pics of the car if that's Okay.

Thanks, I know Ralphie will be thrilled to see your responses. Kinda helps him Justify all the blood, seat, tears, and dough over the past few years. The engine is a 512” all aluminum Keith Black Hemi with “D” port heads, T&D rocker system, a LSM Systems Engineering custom 4-7 swap solid roller cam with over .860” lift, Isky Red Zone lifters, Manton custom pushrods, a Velasco Billet crank, Howards “Top Fuel” connecting rods, arias pistons ( around 12:1) , and a Wilson Pro Flow direct port Nitrous system good for 500 or so extra horses. The trans is a JW powerglide with 1.80 straight – cut gearset. Joe at Pro Torque built a custom converter for this combo. Most of the work was done at Ocean State Performance in North Kingstown, RI. ( www.oceanstateperformance.com ) We’ve only made one easy shakedown pass on the juice so far, but with the base jets ( 24 square ) and a ton of timing pulled out via the MSD digital 7 programmable ignition, it went an effortless 9.46 @ 143MPH . The hood is pitched up at the back to help purge extra air in the engine compartment. It tended to lift ( the hood bulged up ) pretty decent after half track. The piece from the grille to the rad support is really there holding the beat-up shark tooth grille together and in place. The wheels are 15 x 12 with a 5" backspace. The car is mini tubbed to the stock frame rails. The Duster is an original 340 4 speed car that has been a race car for a looooong time. it ws run in the early days of KOS racing by Steve Lambert. Back then it had a Stage 6 headed 440 with a ton of spray getting it into the nines. It's true, Old racecars never die, THEY JUST GO FASTER !

Should get to some test passes next week if the weather holds up. Also want to mention ( for those of you that haven't read my gushing online ) the Alter-K-tion front end from Bill Reilly at RMS Chassis Components. click here The car absolutely drive perfectly at 15, 50 or 140MPH! Bill was especially helpful and informitive and even helped us out with getting the front end travel we needed. Top notch!!

Well, it started out as a street/mostly strip car project that kinda snowballed into a heads-up 10.5 tire racin' Pro/Edelbrock series Vortech Xtreme Street car but they're afear'd of the mighty Hemi headed mopar entries ( ain't allowed now way no how) so it became a New England Dragway Quik Street car but the class kinda died and turned into an 8.50 index class like Atco runs so now it will run there, but mostly it's to scare the crap outta us both until we git r figured and dialed in so we can find a nudder defunct class to try to make it legal for.
That car is awesome !!! But I think you should each have a fast ride, check pic --

B1, Thanks, but We both have rides. Ralph has the Duster, and I have a 68 Dart with the aforementioned stage 6 headed 440. 451, Maybe at Saturday's race, but We'll have to see what the schedule is like. Your car looks sweet, would like to check it out. Are you running it in the 8.50 class?

NICE DUSTER GUYS, so now there is no more quickstreet but an 8.50 class?? whats the payout? at Atco its 1000.00 to win and just to qualify you get 60.00, its a 65.00 entry , AND how far of a tow would it be for me from Port chester ny, right on the border of Greenwich Conn?? i was there once and i think it took about 3 or 4 hrs?
....BAD A$$ STREET CAR.....
