I was at a mopar estate sale yesterday and bought some goodies. I saw this magnum intake and I grabbed it. The last owner decided to drill it for la bolts as well.
Junk now? I could plug the la holes pretty easily. Scrap pile? Some people should only have tools under strict supervision

I’d say it’s a wall-hanger. Why did he drill into the water passage?

If that hole is the only thing wrong, tap it and plug it.

all those holes look like they could be tapped for tapered pipe plugs, providing of course, they are somewhat close to the hole size of "??" required for "??" pipe thread. example, drill size for 1/4" NPT is 7/16". you could then use square head aluminum pipe plugs with a good sealant [JB weld perhaps ?], then cut/grind the plug[s] flush with the casting surface.
lots of work involved though, to do this.
hopefully, you didn't pay much for that intake. unless, of course, you want/decide to use it on an LA block.

It isn't uncommon to have manifolds drilled for vertical and diagonal bolts so as to mount to older or newer engines. Those holes only see engine oil on the backside so a little thread sealant will do the trick.

Now the hole in the water passage is a puzzle. If you can get the hole in the water passage to plug and seal or weld it up you will be OK with that manifold.

thanks guys.
totally unsure why he did that. he passed away and his kids are cleaning everything up so no indication on what his plan was or if he had purchased it that way himself. it was a package deal so not into it too deep. may just cut some plugs out and weld the holes shut. or throw it away. lol the water jacket hole is more of a mystery, it is tapped but if i am welding up holes anyways that should get a plug too.

i saw a few more things around his place that had the same kinda left field ideas. kinda sad that he collected so much stuff to just leave for his kids to throw away. they arent car people so i got there after the third dumpster had left.

I would only be concerned with the hole in the water jacket. You can buy manifolds that are drilled for both la and magnum engines, so I really don't see the issue.

The hole in the water passage is for a mechanical temp gauge sender. Pretty common, but there isn't a lot of material there so be careful if you plan to use it or plug it with a pipe plug.

correct. up
but does the OP have one, or know how to weld aluminum ?
if he has to send that intake out, it may cost more to repair those holes than it is worth. shruggy

no problem there. but like you say. might not be worth the effort for a $100? (maybe?) intake

By the looks of those holes it looks like it was factory drilled and he just hogged the lower portion out. Just weld a threaded fitting in the water port or plug weld it.
