Who really drives a car like that enough that radials are important?

The car was built to drive, the motor, clutch, trans and front end . It drove like no other. Handled awesome & could handle the power. You could trust the car on windy roads ,like a road coarse . The tires now ( yea they look cool) are junk & most likely if pressed would slide off the road. Maybe the new owner or current owner just has it to look at and bring to car shows? who knows.

That is a great looking car with either set of wheels and tires. I am thinking if I could afford it I would have both sets and change the look of the car up from time to time.

Tom Lembek likes to drive his cars, so most of the cars in his collection have radial tires on them like when it was at MCACN last year, instead of repro polyglas bias ply. Having one set for looks and one set to drive is a nice idea but the logistics of having extra sets of wheels and tires around for a car collection gets tough!

On Sep-09-20 at 19:31:49 PDT, seller added the following information:
I've had many calls and questions on this car. First off, its a real sassy 4 speed white interior car!!yes... matching numbers engine car. The transmission is not. The shaker, and some of the other elements were added; however, the owner of this car put a ton of great options that cost a lot of money. The car drives incredibly. I offered over 200 k for this car years ago. The owner out of Connecticut stated no.The only reason Im selling car involves a recent purchase of a purple cuda convertible. You just won't be able to get a car of this color desirability ,in the most iconic 71 cuda model convertible thats a 4 speed in white interior!!!...dont hesitate call me5852980283 Bob

Remember when Tom had it for sale believe the asking price was well over $165K .

Cool car for sure.

Would look better w/a black billboard as the bright white doesn't match the off-white of the interior/top.

Definitely Rallyes would look better. Too much green me thinks w/the painted cop car wheels.

Buildsheet? Without that and a #s matching trans, no way to tell if it's a real four-speed car. We all know fender tags can be faked.

Agreed on the black billboard. Totally disagree on the 4 speed car suspicion. With that line of thinking fender tags are meaningless on LA cars.

If you are going to spend $200 large on a car, at least $75k of that due to being a four-speed, wouldn't you want more proof?

If I have any doubts of the integrity of the data tag I'm not spending anything on it, regardless of value or what it is
That's a personal pet peeve of mine.

Without a buildsheet we don't know what the original wheels were????? And that is a lot of money for a car without a buildsheet.

I agree even more .
For a car previously being sold at over $200K , I'd like a broadcast sheet please.

Beautiful car nonetheless.

If you want a real 71 cuda four speed convertible their were 30 340 and 33 383 cars produced period. Then factor in wanting a good or desirable color. I would think that enough people know the history on this car to find out what it's been through. When it comes down to these numbers, sometimes you can't have everything especially considering what most of these cars went through back in the day. Pretty much good luck finding one at all and if you do it's just going to be expensive.

Well said. Those really are extremely low production numbers on a very desirable car.
