Is the torque shaft support bracket that mounts on the side of the transmission the same for both a 904 and 727? Or is one longer than the other? Also, is it different from the bracket used with console shift linkage? This bracket is missing on my column shift 70 Cuda 440.

Thanks,
David

I don't know on an e-body, but on the a-body cars several of those shift mechanism parts are different lengths between the 904 and 727 cars. If nobody else can confirm I would seek out the 727 part so you know it works.

The E-body torque shaft is the same for 727 and 904, bracket is different; the 904 bracket is longer because of the narrower case.

I have looked at a number of images of these side-mounted brackets...all on the web. I have also looked at Dave Wise's documentation. Based on the replies here and what I have viewed, I think that this bracket, found on Ebay, is the correct one. Went ahead and bought it. I will replace the bushing.

Thanks to everyone here for their help,
David
