Just curious to hear some opinions on this set up. Motor is a 3.58 stroke 360 that turns 7000 on gear change and 7200 or so out the back. Can't go wrong with the crank scraper IMO, but the windage screen is debatable. The screen should keep the crank from pulling the oil up out of the sump (Moroso deep pan). I cut off the lower skirt on the passenger side thinking the up stroke scraper will be more effective. Also thinking about folding a lip towards the crank on the driver side to make kind of another scraper.

Lot of debate about how to control windage in a crankcase, but take a garden hose and spray a piece of screen wire and see what it does to the stream of water, same idea with that screen. But then what is the best size mesh? and does the oil cling to the mesh and effectively close off the holes if to small, or let too much oil pass if to big? I personally like the idea of the screen windage tray, I have built a couple, but I have no data to prove one way or the other how well it did or did not work, and to my knowledge no body else does either. If someone does, that would be a good post to read.

Likely you've already seen this but crank-scrapers. Com. There's a lot of good information there. a lot of good reading, photos some of it pretty exotic. Guys into slant 6 s finally learned how I spun a bearing in slant 6 Aspen 30 years ago.

That's Kevin's scraper set up on the pan rails, very nice piece.

I would like to see that directional screen run all the way to the front counter weight on the crank to help peel the rotating oil cloud off of the rods and crank up twocents
The crank scraper is worth some power, usually above 6000 RPM. The screen is probably worth some power above 3000 RPM also, but hard to measure unless you did a A,B,A test on the same day within 3 or 4 Hrs. of each test shruggy
A vacuum pump or dry sump oil system would be the best power gain affecting the crankcase up
If money allowed on the dry sump system I would have one now instead of only the vacuum pump whiney shruggy

Are you going to use a gasket, or will this be a silicone gasket-maker type of an install? Is there a reason one would not want to use a double-gasket install (so one between the block and scraper and then scraper to oil pan)?

Also, regarding the fit: sounds like you are impressed, anything you can think of that one should be aware of if considering such an install?

Thanks!

Going to use Permatex Right Stuff on the rails and rear of pan with the rubber lip seal under timing cover. IMO I think using 2 rail gaskets would result in excessive total thickness. The scrapers needed a few clearance tweeks and I drilled the holes up a size to let them drop on, but all in all I give them a thumbs up.
