How much higher would a 440 need to rev, to get the most out of the victors, compared to a larger engine.
I have found mine to run its quickest times when I shift at 6600 rpm and I go thru the trap at 6900 rpm. Thats about 500 rpm higher than when I ran RPM heads.

Well, I just ran my quickest time at PAO last saturday in 100 degree heat. Victor max wedge heads, solid roller, 1.7 t&d rockers, super victor intake, 13:1. 3530 lbs. Launched off the brake at 4800, shifted at 67-6800, crossed stripe at 7000-7100. 9.96 @ 135.17.
Don't know the incrementals because they didn't give out timeslips on the "arm drop" pass, but it seemed to hook pretty good.

Forget the Victors, too much trouble to make them work, little rocker arm choices, what headers to use? Installed height sucks. Push rod clearance issues. The guy I know had them, and they were trouble from the get go. Just get a set of Indy heads..SR's, EZ's 440-1's etc..

yea get the indys and pray you dont have problems. hughes, T&D machine, Harland sharp, all make rocker arms.
I bought one of the first sets of victors and had a couple of problems..edelbrock was great to deal with. find someone to say that about indy? I couldnt.
Pushrod clearancing was the only "special" thing Brian had to do. Plenty of installed height for the .720 lift cam I'm running. My

Forget the Victors...
In my case, I already have a set... and the rockers... and the current headers I have fit them w/o any problems.
However, most of the results that people have posted about were from using them on stroker engines. I'm interested in hearing how they've done on standard 440 combinations like mine, since I haven't done the switch from my current heads, yet.
