What brand air filter are you using in your Mopar? Looking for one an air filter for my 340. Do the Fram filters closely represent the factory originals?

I'm using Wix filters (both air and oil) in both my cars. The Road Runner has an open aluminum Mopar Performance air cleaner so it's incorrect anyway. My Cuda uses the OE air cleaner, and only a small portion of the actual filter is visible, so not too concerned with a correct appearance. I think (and I could be wrong) the Fram AIR filters are still acceptable to use. Oil filters, not so much. popcorn

FRAM's vintage series was really nice, here's the CA305V that should be for your 340 4-barrel:

https://www.autozone.com/external-engine/air-filter/fram-air-filter-ca305v/376666_0

Unfortunately, those stopped being produced a few years ago.

The next option would be FRAM's CA305:

Then there's other manufacturers.

Mike.

I use Super Tech oil in my oil bath air cleaner.

No fancy paper filter for me, lol.

NAPA Gold...
They scored well in comparison testing some years ago, and I've memorized the part numbers I need for my cars.. easy to grab them & go.

I think the better filters at NAPA are Wix.

NAPA or WIX, don't waste your money on oil bath, they are no better and a PITA to clean. Just make sure you get the right size, that is the key.

Well they are better at catching dirt than any other filter using an oil, looking at you K&N.

They work, just messy to clean. When I get the FI installed I'll be running paper filters.

Lol, You can't just put up a picture like that without telling us what it is!

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

You got it, when we finally break the back of 100+ degree days I'll start in on making eh engine run with it. Right now I've done most of the prep to get it ready for install.

I guess since no one is going to answer your question, I will:

Yes they do represent the factory originals. And, as far as I know Fram were original equipment air filters.

Of course, since the sun rises and sets on wix on this site, I'm waiting for them to re-issue their Six Pack air filter. tonguue
