Went from 4.56 gears to 4 10s and picked up .3 and 4mph.
60 foot feels weak now.

Gear effects the converter . At both ends of the track .
Is it a 2 speed or 3 speed
1/8 or 1/4 ?
Do you have a data logger
Usually the converter will be tighter at the stripe with more gear ,
BUT a lot effects this , weight , etc

....BAD A$$ STREET CAR.....

in the 90's and early 2000, which was 1/4 mile. I would leave soft and let the car make the power on the big end. Mostly trying not to break stuff. I watched a blower car do this, leaving from 1,500 rpm go 7.02 at 202mph in the 1/4. He had a limited budget. Birdtracker

Good combo to fool people with a top end charge with the 4.10's. Sounds like it may have spent too much time out of, or rpm'ed too quickly through its power range because of the 4.56 gear. Big block? Carb tuning (squirters & pump cams) can help with 60' times.

No mention of what the 60s were or are. ET is made early.

Interesting that gear change made that difference. Unless it was just spinning.

56 to a 10 and picked up 4? RPM has to be about the same with both gears.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Went from a 1.15-1.16 60 foot to a 1.18-1.19
Always dead hooked. No spin.
Better ET & MPH in worse DA. So I know the car liked the gear change.

What is your low gear ratio in the tranny?
I'm wondering if you could change it to a lower ratio to get back the 60 ft. times work luck
I did something similar years ago in my old M.W. stocker, change the rear gear ratio from 4.89 to 4.56 and the low gear ratio from 2.45 to 2.77., that swap also change the second gear ratio but I don't remember by how much now blush The car went quicker and faster also with those changes up

Its a Rossler turbo 400. 2.48 1st gear.
This is a great idea. Thanks.
Will call Rossler in the morning to get the next ratio.
Unfortunately Rossler doesn't sell parts so I'll have to bring the transmission there. Or ill see if A1 sells something.

I'm just wondering how it lost 3 hun in 60 and gained 3 tenths overall. Would like to compare the incrementals on before and after time slips. 3 tenths and 4 MPH is a bunch for that change. Like adding 40 or 50 horsepower.

I'm thinking too much gear. Over revving st the stripe.
Lazier than I like off the hit but after the 660, it started pulling harder.
Crossed the teaps 500rpms less.

Could you post the before and after increments?
