I currently have a Harbor Frieght generator, 3200 watt. Its 10-11 years old now and honestly it cant keep up with my trailer. I cant run too many things at once. It has AC/Heat , microwave, inside lights, outside lights, and I run Water bath bottle heater, battery charger, and fans to cool the engine between rounds.
Harbor freight has 4375, and 6500 watt. What size do I need to run some of this stuff together at one time ?

My current one still runs great, starts on the first pull, but it cant keep up...LOL

and yea, im sure everyone around me wants to kill me because its loud...LMAO

Harbor freight ones are extremely over rated on sizes .. Sometime, when you have everything running, put a load meter on, you will be shocked ( no pun intended) on how low of volts you are actually running on and when you do that, it hurts all the electrical components .
I bought a Honda 6500 inverter years ago for $3800 new with a good sam discount, still works great

A couple years ago I was at a race In Harrisburg IL and the guy parked next to me had a big enclosed trailer. The generator, a big Honda, was on a slide out on my side of his trailer. It was quiet enough my nephew and I could carry on a conversation without having to raise our voices with it running about eight feet away.

I bought a used Onan 4500 gen works great.. I did have to replace a coil once but thats been it..
Onan gens were made for motor home and such.. its a low rpm engine and its
nice and quiet.. it will control all the load I have in my trailer.. I have AC also and a
compressor and lights(over all trailer length is 43')

We have a Honda and a Champion. I would buy the Champion again in a heartbeat. Just as good as the Honda and much less.
We had a Motorhome generator malfunction at Bowling Green. We used the Champion to run the Motorhome. It ran 2 ac units, the fridge, hotwater heater and on plus the trailer lights and battery charger.I was impressed.
This is what we have. Thats cheap for a good and quiet inverter generator.

I too have a inverter Champion generator. I bought it after my buddy with a 3000 watt Honda wouldn’t start his motorhome generator but his Dads Champion would. On weekends I don’t take my motorhome I use my 2000 watt Honda. I haven’t used my Onan in probably three years but they are great generators.

I think most trailer OEMs trailer manufactures use Cummins/Onan generators because if properly installed they can be run with the generator door shut.

However even though the inverter generators normally have to be pulled outside of the generator cabinet they are normally very quiet and fuel efficient.

For bigger loads, over around 3,500 watts, I don't know of any new inverter generators other than Honda EU7000IS. Super quiet, fuel injected and very quiet.

Sounds like you already knew what you were gonna get.. I dont think you need one that big..
but thats up to you.. how big is your trailer and what kind of load will be on the gen add up
all the load and see what you need.. there are plenty of used gens out there

Add up the watts of everything you need to run at the same time and the surge wats of things like microwaves in air conditioners definitely come into play well calculating I’m gonna bet you need a 6500 or larger... Your typical RV air conditioner will draw 2500 watt with a 3500 Watt surge that start up microwave is very similar... add everything up it’ll give you what size generator you need.

I agree, with everything you got hooked up, I wouldnt doubt you could use the 6500 and the 3500 you already have. Thats allot of power needed at one time, especially with the surge loads.

Last year we got a 48' LQ trailer and put a Honda EU7000IS in it (on one of Kenny Andersons Fast farms slide out). Nice and quiet, good on fuel. I used a Generac 7000 (13,000 surge) for years, but you can't sleep near it, and it used a lot of gas. Did I mention that my Honda is quiet?
