It's a 69 Roadrunner 383 4 speed Plum crazy Purple it seems to be in very nice condition. I'm trying to get a handle on the value. I have never really been in a situation where a car like this has been brought to my attention. So I'm very skeptical on what it is and make a educated offer.

Numbers matching for a car like that means the stamps on the engine and transmission match the VIN. The fender tag should match the car features and the VIN. The "hidden" VIN numbers should match the VIN tag. Not a lot of fully number matching cars still exist these days since the original engines are often gone but you might get lucky.

Partial vin on engine block pad and transmission. Door vin, dash vin are full. Partial vin on the radiator support. That all would be nice if matched with original fender tag, and a broadcast sheet. But the next level of numbers matching and date code matching is all the attached parts. Lots of them in the engine bay, but interior and electrical parts too. Now that may not matter to you, and again prices is the factor. But it is the difference between identical type cars having one worth way more then the other despite matching drive trains.

Also the market now has far more reproduction parts versus OEM original.

Based on the questions your asking, you might want to do some more research or get some one who understands market value. If that matters to you.

You can look at completed Ebay auctions, major auction houses and such. And you can use a tool like Hagerty value to see.

You may be lucky and it is a steal, but more than likely it is not.

As stated already but know that car has to be a "color change" since Plum Crazy/In-Violet wasn't available for a 69 Road Runner.

To start this 69 RR isn't a numbers car if its purple, not available in 69. the Plymouth name is In Violet, not Plum Crazy.

The question you asked is sort of like that famous one asked to slick Willy. โ€œWhat is the definition of is.โ€๐Ÿ˜‚

Purple didn't come out till 70, so that there is a knock on value.

Thanks Guys I did find out shortly after the orginal post that In Violet FC 7 was not offered in 69. Like I said I'm a bit skeptical about a True 69 RR 383 4 speed car selling for $16K and looking at the pictures it seems very nice. I get the vibe the owner is trying to unload fast for whatever reason. I will move forward cautiously.

On FBBO you described this car as "1969 RR clone". 16K suggests it is a Satellite clone. First six VIN digits should tell the story.
