Spent 3.5 hours today finishing sanding it and buffing it out.
I was going to forgo the front and rear parts since it took a whole lot of Sanding with a die grinder to get into the smaller recessed parts. But did not think Gray Paint would do.
Hard to get good pictures with the flash as can be seen on the rear part. The flash shows the cloth reflation and not the mirror shine like the rest. So that part looks rough but is smooth and shines just like the rest

I also sandblasted the 8 3/4 sanded/ polished it and had it triple plated. It is a real sight if I ever build this car it is going to be 70's car show style. We do not get snow here and would be kept inside. I have almost everything that is done that goes in or on the body. Just needs body sheet metal done. All in bags and boxes every place I could find to stick them. Even the seat covers are on and in 100-gallon bags for storage.
If I ever abandon the project be a hard sell for someone else to want that style of parts. For now, just banging away at it slowly as that is the part I like.
I have some Herniated Disc in my neck and back so elapsed time doing things like this for me is long. I work some and then wait. really sporadically done. I am not 25 years old anymore lol.
I already did the heads year or 2 back and posted them,'
Today, I started cutting down another 6 pack intake that was pro-ported by the same shop that did the Edelbrock Heads. It is slow going even broke the mandrel for the sandpaper rolls I have 500 of the rolls so I got that covered.
I did what I normally do, finished one spot 100% so that it gives inspiration as it starts to feel like it is just too much while doing it.
There are hardly any flat spots so it is die grinder city. And the compressor makes noise. My wife is working from home so no cheapo 60-gallon vertical from 1993 banging away. .I would love a new Ingersoll Rand 5HP 80 Gallon Vertical Air Compressor. But can not till this old Cambell Hausfeld dies kinda like the old B&S motors they last forever. They do not make them that good anymore. I will do a few hours here and there as my health permits and will not care if it takes months.

Here is the port work on the intake. A whole lot of work is going into the intake as well as the Heads. And a few shots of the heads so the intake must be done as well. The heads are True Mirrors

I do not think it makes the part retain heat more. It does get hot buffing. enough that beer explodes you have to cool it off a few times while doing a can.
Some of the cans were dented so I had to dispose of them. Here is an Eddie Air Gap I polished right before I was told I had cancer. I got a great deal on it and thought I might need it to do a Fuel Injection one day.
I was told do not to paint or sand so stopped. I have all clear now but doing the whole enchilada of protection on now.
Before I was just chugging away at anything I saw that I had here that I thought would look cool shiny. Even the Right Angle Oil Filter Adapter
Miles of Stainless Trim for others. And some fur me.
3 timing covers sanded polished and triple plated 2 oil pans, the list goes on. Chrome is cheap if they do not have to do the work. Or just plain old as the Brits say "Al_You_Min_I_Um"
Looking around last week M/T valve covers I had since age 17 that used to be black.

Funniest thing I've read on the forum.

I'd put it on my wall cause no way that should be hidden under a car.

Way more patience than I have. I'm blowing that stuff off with brake cleaner and bolting it back together. laugh2
Beautiful work though.
