UMMMMM,,, not likely I scour the local adds a lot. And have yet to find a clean Dart in any color with clean title and decent miles for anything less than maybe $6000-6500 range

There are so many more reliable cars out there. The Dart was dropped from manufacturing because of selling like hotcakes? I don't think so. You will not find the Dart on anyone's reliability index from which other cars are judged. Just like you will not find the '200' either.

Never, ever argue with an IDIOT. They will drag you to their level and then beat you with their years of experience

Hey now,,,,,

My daughter has a 2015 Dart other than tires and oil changes the car has been flawless.
Good friend of mine has a 2014 Dart he bought new, now with close to 100k miles on it, ZERO issues

My wife has a 2016 Chrysler 200S .
other than a blip a few months back where the air bag light comes and goes. { fixed it with tightening the pinout connectors in the pass seat back wiring )
That car has been flawless.
So Im not so sure I can agree with your sentiment

They didn't stop making the Dart after such a short time because it was "too good."

The auto mags in 2016 said it was partially because they were making more money on challengers and jeeps?

How true I dont know.

Here is an interesting vid on the darts. Kinda slow and lame at the beginning then they get into the meat.

I almost think for a mopar guy vs the mainstream world reasons there negs, are not that big of a deal.

I think the Dart and the 200 were good cars introduced at the wrong time. Sedans from the big 3 have faded away with the focus becoming SUVs, crossovers and a few specialty cars.
I bought my Dart new in 2014 and it now has close to 95,000 miles. I'm a life long car guy and engineer and the design and engineering of the car impresses me compared to what I have seen in most compact cars. Even now at 6 years old and nearly 100K miles it is still tight and rattle and squeak free. The paint and trim still look new, even though the car gets parked outside and gets driven year round in this harsh environment. So many small cars have "buzzy" power trains but not the Dart.
The only 2 flaws I have found with the design, are that in winter, ice can freeze the fuel filler door closed. Last winter I was driving and passed another Dart and and saw his fuel door not latched shut, and wanted to give him a thumbs up as I started doing the same thing when its cold and icy!
And unless you have the front seats slid almost all the way forward, you can't drive the car with the rear seats folded down for increased trunk space. My '09 Challenger is the same way. I used to have a '08 Focus and you could fold its seat down even with the front seats full back. Why can't Chrysler's engineers figure out how to design their rear seats properly for this function like Ford?
Other than oil changes, replacing the brakes, a new battery, and air filter and wiper blade replacements, the only out of normal maintenance problems I've had were a wheel bearing at 75,000 miles, a check engine light when it was still under warranty that the dealer fixed in 30 minutes, parking brake stopped working right and had to replace the 2 rear calipers to repair, a burned out headlight bulb, and a problem with the clutch master cylinder that would intermittently cause the clutch pedal to not return when depressed on start up, which FCA extended the warranty on and fixed.
Even the headlight bulb change was easy thanks to good engineering, they put a removable panel in the inner fender you pop off to get at the rear of the headlight assembly to get at the bulb.
I'm not a SUV fan so I'm sorry cars like the Dart aren't made by the big 3 anymore!
