Looking for the 2 engine compartment braces that extend from the center of the firewall out to each Inner fender for my 72 Roadrunner. I recall my old 74 runner had these as well. I took them off and discarded them years ago. Anyone reproduce those?

Thanks !!

72 are one year only braces. 73-74 are longer but can be made to work. None are reproduced that I am aware of.

Thanks for the heads up. I didn’t know 72 were one year only.

Here are a couple comparison pictures for you. The 73-74 ones are almost perfectly straight. The 72's (top ones) curve where they meet the fenders and the right side has a unique bend as it approaches the firewall to clear fresh air hood air cleaners.

I wonder how much more rigidity they actually add.

At least on the A-bodies they were added because of "cowl shake" complaints. I'm sure that's why they added them on the B-body as well. They aren't very stiff braces. I'm sure they are hollow like the A-body piece. They probably stiffened up the cowl just enough to cut down on the "cowl shake" complaints.

Anyone know whether all B bodies were supposed to have them?
I've seen 71-2 engine compartments with and without.
Always wondered whether it had anything to do with options on the car, or build plant.

71's didn't have them. They started in 72 for B's and 74 for A's. Don't think all 72 B's had them. I've had several 318 cars that didn't have them and several HP cars that had them. My 72 SSP 400 2-bbl car has them.

Thanks for the info about your car.
What plant, engine, and trans in your Charger?
I've got a late '72 build Runner, with 400 and air grabber, St Louis car.
No build sheet, but trans has a June date, and fuel tank is definitely the later one.
So wondering if it should have 'em?

YES it was a St Louis built car.

maybe to muddy the waters a bit more. the car had a NAD PAINT tag on it, original owner verified tag was there when it was new. NAD PAINT is basically a experiment on how the next years colors work out. the problem is the car was B5 blue a non carry over color. from what i found out they were trying out a different type of painting processes for the 73 year. when i restored the car it had 10+ coats of paint on the firewall and the rest of the body. the owner told me he never had the car painted. also according to my research they didn't start using NAD PAINT until March and my car was built in Feb. the closest guess i have for the differences is they used a known color to try out first before using a new color
.
to muddy the waters even more. according to the original owner he never crashed the car, the car had 15 miles on it when he got it. when i restored the car it had replacement fenders on the car. it also had ft and rear bumper guards on it that weren't listed on the fender tag or build sheet. my guess is the car was crashed at the dealer before it was sold to the original owner. the fenders and header panel had 1 paint job on on them. there wasn't a hood on my car when i bought it. couldn't tell you about the paint on the doors. they went right into the scrap bin.

Thanks Mr T2U!
My cars owner was deceased when I got it, last inspection was 1984!
It has what looks like 1973 seats F&R, do you think its possible they could have been original to a car built in June '72 or later?
Ever see another '72 with the button style vinyl bucket seats?

Buckets with buttons were for Charger in 72, A RR that came with buckets looked like these.

Anything is possible on these later cars, I think. My first car, a 74 Roadrunner I bought with around 50K miles from the original owner while I was in the AIr Force, had the dash badged as a Satellite instead of the correct Roadrunner. Minor, but it was a late built car. Maybe they ran out or most likely just an assembly line mistake.
